So true what she says. I remember once my maths teacher asked me to stand up and tell my caste ( after I solved a geometry problem no one could solve). I froze and could only utter sheepishly that I was an "SC". I felt so embarrassed that I wanted to just disappear. This is only one of many such incidents.

After the recent Rajasthan incident all I can tell you that if I was one of yours I most probably would've disappeared long ago. The innocent kid escaped from all the atrocities & discrimination which were waiting his way for him to grow up. He snapped out of this entire cycle of continuous torment and distress in the most easy way. Maybe disappearing from this world to escape this merciless plethora of pain is the only solution for dalits

copyright @simple guy Castism, it's Varna system, In present time , IAS OFFICER , POLICE OFFICER, BUSINESS MAN, FARMERS are all occupations without which no country can run their nation, initially it was not birth right, but solely on gunas(personalities), if choose to become Brahmin, you need to have profound knowledge of sanskrit and Vedas and must not kill or eat any animals, if you desire to choose to Kshatriya,you need to have courage, brave, robust but yet well discipline to protect nations (Empire),if you personalities fits in business like marwaris in India then vaishya, If you want serve land for agricultures then sudras. It's all your choice.but after the end of Mughal era and British colonisation, British knew how to divide India based on caste system which are not the true meaning of Varna system,hence those ancient interchangeable occupations was turned into birth rights, moreover the sons of Brahmins have knowledge of Vedas from their father teachings and hence follow generation to generation until to this present Brahmins who most of which do not know sanskrit and Vedas( actually they are no more Brahmins as they don't possess those Satya gunas of Brahmins) but Kshatriyas and vaishyas got perished as monarchy abolished and Govt formed but Brahmins remain due to religious purposes.

I was very luckythat i born in small town chnadrapur where Dr babasaheb Ambedkar have embraced buddhism. Life in this small town was good than so many other big cities . I have never faced amy discrimination. I scored top marks in college and got admission in MIT PUNE KOTHRUD. I will say this was worst thing happened to me. No one used to share bench with me. I was always failed in practical. I somehow completed 4 years if engineering. Trust me that 4 years were worst of my carrer due to castiest professors. I left india and doing very well in life with top company at managerial postion. Now i dont even need name of that castiest college MIT PUNE .

I have seen many bosses in my organization who belong to UR category fear to give any strict order to people due to backlash of Atrocity act, and also they don't pressurize woman employees with strict order regarding job due to fear of backlash from woman centric laws. As a result burden of work falls on few people who have no specific protection under laws.

My story is quite different . I m dalit myself, I frown on people of upper caste and refuse to eat their food and look down upon them. I find that so called upper caste have very little confidence so if all dalit unite and instead of being ashamed of being dalit , and do the same to upper caste , situation might change

It really needs a degrading and insecure mentality for people to demean a word 'dalit'. Infact when somebody identifies somebody else as 'dalit', he/she himself is categorized into a 'dalit'. Dalit is by its word, classified/ scheduled (dal me shamil kiya hua). If one identifies other as classified into a class not belonging to one's own, one automatically is classified into another one. By the way, castes were 'varna' identified as per kundali; castes gave an inclination of the person born during certain planetary positions to have certain typical temperaments and inclinations (which they are good at and bad at). When did these scientific/astro castes creep into names; got implied and marketed to suppress fellow humans in a baseless manner is corruption of human knowledge and ethics. It is just a business of marketing inferiority.

One should be proud of their identity and wear it on the sleeves. Then no one will dare to speak non sense. I m a moolnivasi. I wear my identity on my sleeves. I never faced any discrimination. Neither in front of my face nor at back. Yes I do face criticism in office , but that's limited only to my work. If I make those criticism as point of atrocity it will be my foolishness.

I remember Yashica asking me on facebook to come out with my story of being a dalit. Many did I was apprehensive and ashamed too as I am still traumatized and suffer from discrimination I have faced. I am sad she has monetized these stories and selling it for INR 400. Wonder if masses are actually going to read it

Reservations only apply in public universities and jobs so it's okay? No. Because these are the most esteemed institutes in India not the private ones. Also most of the reservation seats are taken by well off dalit families and underprivileged dalits still remains the same. Affirmative action is not efficiently applied because all factors are not taken in while applying it.

No one really bother a dalit person due to his or her caste in urban areas at least except it's about reservations. Especially about @yashica Dutt I have went to her twitter profile and saw her tweets and she exaggerates a lot. One of thing I want to point out is She is very privileged and comes from good background , but she portrays as if she is downtrodden and helpless. She is appropriating struggles and pain of downtrodden and helpless dalits. It's just not her story.. She is climbing ladder to reach to Arundhati Roy and all.

Rohit Vemula was involved in dirty politics supporting Afzal Guru(as far as I remember) and doing namaz and all; and that guy was a PhD student!! There are so many misinformation spread about him levelling him as some sort of Messiah or intellectual genius who wanted to do this or that and was deeply sympathetic towards society downtrodden; which is bullshit. Dalit population is 26% while Upper caste 21% OBC 50%. Now go check the numbers and tell me how many govt. Jobs dalit have and how many Upper caste. How many national dalit Leaders can you name? Dalit Minister? OBC ministers? 75% population is dalit and OBC how many ministers are there from these community in parliament.
