I actually appreciate how many people realize and commenting on him saying he doesn’t fear G-d. It’s okay for people not to be religious, but as a religious person, it’s nice to see. It’s not in the context that many across history used to control people. It’s the context of something like a parent. For the most part, parents are loving and kind but can be harsh and disciplinary. Fearing your parents is something of respect and a humble realization that you didn’t create yourself and that there is a superior being that helps you but can also take away from you. It could “blink” and everything would cease to exist. I think that awesome respect and humility towards your creator is what G-d means by fearing him. It’s just too easy as a controlling extremist and ideologue to take any passage regarding fear and use it to whip people into submission.
