I bet it's this lousy algorithm piece of junk, serving people way too much of all that watered-down mainstream stuff and all the other pabulum, that the music industry is so eager to promote. Pity. I heard this song yesterday in the car at 7 in the morning (in Germany). I immediately stopped at the baseline, turned up the volume ... wow ... and it gets better all the time. This is one of these songs where you remember where you where and what you were doing for the rest of your life. Truly an amazing piece of art indeed ......

I discovered Nneka's music when I was a teenager growing up in Spanish Harlem. Her unique sound and powerful lyrics resonated with me on a deep level, especially her song "Heartbeat." It spoke to my struggles of growing up in a marginalized community, but also gave me hope and empowerment. Nneka's music has taught me to use my voice to speak out for what I believe in and that I can make a difference in the world. Love you Nneka

Just found this. This is amazing. There's an urgency to the instrumentals and her voice that give emotion to the message so well. This is beautiful. I hear people fighting the narratives of society's continuous improvement with schools of thought like "we've come a long way, we're way better than we were before", but to me, it's never ok to stop looking for progress's next step. Capitalism and democracy may be the best economic and government systems humanity has come up with yet, but it's not perfect and we're still riddled with corruption. We can do better and we should do better. We deserve better, from all of us, but especially from our leaders.

You can only appreciate the meaning of the lyrics if at least one in your life you have been to nigeria feeling its streets full of life mixed with joy and the ongoing struggle for a better future, if you have experimented at least once how is dealing with its currupted political class (at every level).
