When this was announced a few months ago, I couldn’t wait until I got my hands on it. The 1.0 served me very well. The midsole, now that it is supercritical ‘expure ‘ foam is SO NICE!. Pricey? Yes, but if you consider I got hundreds of kilometres on the 1.0, they are worth it IMO.

Looks great. I love the fact that there is no exposed foam between the Vibram Megagrip outsole. This really enhances durability. I don't know why Hoka and some other brands leave exposed foam on a trail shoe.

Agreed with the exposed foam part. My Tomir 1.0 are still holding up although they are now relegated.

Thanks for the review! What about sizing compared to Hoka? Many reviews that say to size down. (my Hokas are 43 1/3)

My pleasure and thanks for watching. Yes, go 1/2 size down. Every shoe I am a US 10.5 but for these a 44 (US 10). My 1.0 were the same.

Great review, Just trying to get hold of my size in the UK at the moment. How do they size? I have wide feet, I'm using the Saucony Xodus Ultra in a 10.5 UK at the moment. I'm also a 10.5 in a Speedgoat 4 (wide) Road shoe is Saucony Endorphin Speed 3 all are good length and width. VJ ultra in a 10.5 was a tiny bit short. Any thoughts?

Thank you. They size 1/2 US larger. As an example, I’m a 10.5 in all Salomon, but a US 10 (44 Euro) with these and they fit well. Not necessarily wide but fit me very well. My foot is not very wide and I have a narrow heel but they work for me. If you can find a local store at some point, I’d suggest trying them on. They should honour returns if they don’t fit. I'm with you but I only have version 2. They are like a lightweight tank and the laces do not need to be doubled. My thinking, for me...they are like Norda 002 but on steriods~ curious, have you tried Norda? My foot is a little wide and the 2 in both are just ducky! Any thoughts on the waterproof NNormal....I'm holding out to be certain of the width as they most likely are sized as the 1 and not the 2's.

I have not tried Norda but have heard good things about them. As for the waterproof, no I have not. I stay away from waterproof as I find my feet get really warm and they don’t drain well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Appreciate the support. Cheers.

Thanks for the review. How’s the fit compared to usual size please? I always size up a complete size in my Speedgoats and never get blisters. That heel rub is an issue though. Thanks again.

Go down 1/2 size from your usual. They are a great shoe and should last a long time (if they are anything like the version 1). Thanks for watching. Appreciate the support.

A few told me that the show is more wide at the front and the feet’s are moving inside… What do say about that. I got the 1.0 and it fits perfectly

In my use so far it is fitting well. The lacing is set wider apart but I find the shoe is the same.

I just bought tomir two and although the length of insole is comparable to my other shoes, they just seems a bit bigger than they are. I am not really able to secure my foot in the shoe and the stiff upper does not really help.any idea, Dave, how does the shoe change over time ?

@@FreakWithAMustache I have found that they have a bit more volume in the toe box. Haven’t had these ones long enough and not enough runs, but the 1.0 took a little time to break in (less than 50km for me). After that, they were great. All the best.

I have not run in Norda’s. I was very happy with the 1.0 and the 2.0 seem to be an improvement. If you end up getting them, let us all know what you think. Thanks for watching. 👍.

uhm i am in uk, trying to decide between this and the Kjerag.

I’d say this is more of a daily workhorse and the Kjerag is more nimble for those faster efforts and shorter races. Unless you are Kilian 😁. That being said, I haven’t tried the Kjerag yet.

My pleasure. I don’t have wide feet but I like the extra room. It’s more than most Salomon, and along the lines of the UltraPro for me. I tried the Speedgoat 5, and ended up returning it for other reasons but find more room in the Tomir than the SG5. Hope this helps.

Yeah that V2 is amazing, the 1 was really good and they rectified the problems to a point where it is the most versatile durable comfortable shoe on market by far INHO.
