I have this book it is excellent .I own 8, 303s and some of the bitzers shoot a 2 inch group at 200yards after following the instructions . and the other ones I worked on all shoot better .

Thats the best i got my sported 303 no1mk3* to shoot. Amazing 2 inches groups at 200yardes using ironsights with a six oclock hold. I sold the gun and now im fixing up a no1mk3 shtle sported, im just bedding spots with epoxy.

A quick question, for center and mid bedding, can the barrel be 'normally' glass bedded or should it be pressure bedded?

Hello Enfield Can you explain why my 4 mkI when I start to shoot the first 3-4 shots go 4-5 "on the bottom left, then when it warms up a little cane begins to pull well. Sunday in a race 2 I arrived, I took a few points on the first shots, you can give me some advice to solve the problem. Hello Gianfranco

I know this is old, but incase you still trying to sort this, id say in my limited experience that the barrel is heating up and contacting a point it shouldn't be, so it is a bedding issue I think.

@@dunxy your wood is bit canted from age and part of wood is touching the barrel, when barrel gets hot wood expand a bit and its no longer touching

is there anything that can be done with a sporterized no4? without handguards?

Look at the drawing on the top left and see to the right side the 3 spots on the stock bedding. You can bed the stock in 3 spots, the draws at the rear, the front of the mainscrew on the knoxform, and along the middle of the stock. Its called india bedding and i did this to my no4mk1 and it shoots really good now. The middle area will be bedded and the rest of the front of the stock will be free floated.
