I had the opportunity to meet Travis in Vegas a couple years ago and what I remember most about him was that he carried himself in such a way that you almost forgot he had any disability at all. Not one ounce of victim in him. Truly incredible man!

This was awesome! Travis' fortitude and attitude are phenomenal, but I also appreciate the rest of the men who gathered around him to help him learn jiujitsu just like they do for everyone else. There is real camaraderie amongst people who genuinely collaborate on a problem with no BS and no ego.

Travis, damn man. I needed to see someone with that spirit like you. I been down and you really have amazing perseverance that touched me deeply. Thank you so much for being strong to lead other people out of their own struggles. You are really impacting people’s lives with your warrior spirit.

I'm proud of that guy and everything he has achieved. I do Jiu Jitsu as well but I do it with my prosthetics on. It's great to see more amputees out there doing it and getting out of their comfort zone.

Thank you for sharing this. Seeing Travis kick butt in so many aspects of life gave me a boost I really needed. If he can do what he does, my replacement hip and ankle I got 4 months apart is fixable. I can recover from this, I can adapt my kata and kumite from kicks (no go, kicking a person or a bag counts as high impact, says my doc,) and I can switch to knee kicks, throws, and joint manipulation. Thank you, Travis, for being a leader in showing how to recover one’s life and a sense of normalcy. (Even for this 58 yo, chunky suburban mom 🥰
