This Cassava Flan is so simple, easy to make, and very delicious! The recipe I used here was adopted from my Cassava Cake and I just added an egg since I will be steaming it. This recipe is not too sweet despite having a caramel on top. A must-try!

Ingredients:
2 cups cassava, grated ( I used 1 pack 16 oz, ready-made cassava in a pack but fresh can be used by grating and squeezing some juice)
1/2 of 1 can coconut milk ( about 3/4 cup)
1/2 of 1 can condensed milk (about 3/4 cup)
1 large egg
7 & 1/2 tbsp sugar (2 & 1/2 tbsp each llanera mold) amzn.to/33NX95O

Thank you 💕. Today I tried this recipe using evaporated milk instead. Steam for 45mins on medium heat. Turned out good and soft , I added 3/4 can of cond milk but tasted not too sweet. I will try again same recipe but will use coconut milk. Did not have the chance to refrigerate it as it was finished soon 🙂. I used 2 medium llaneras. Thickness just fine.

Update: I already tried this and it was the most perfect cassava cake I've ever tasted! It was soft, not too sweet, and super creamy. You should really try these guys. This is incredible! Thanks for sharing this recipe! Lots of love and support. Will make sure to check out all your recipes! 💟💟💟💟

Looks yummy! What’s the difference in texture if steamed vs baked? Is the recipe the same? What size is the mold pan you used here?

Thanks. Much smoother when baked. Not sure about the size, my mom gave me these molders from the Phils and there was no size label.

Mas masarap ang coconut milk. I adopted this recipe from my cassava cake recipe and just added egg. Mas malasa sya but yes you can evap milk if you like.

Hi Pinoy, i tried this cassava flan recipe. Love the taste and not too sweet. Only issue the cassave did not cook gooye but had little grain like tixture. What did i do wrong. I did the cassava in the food processor instead of grateing it. I am planning to make it again soon. Any advice for me. Thank you.

Great! I used a frozen store-bought grated cassava for this one. Next time grate it so you can see the difference. Try squeezing it next time.

Why the other recipe had evaporated milk? What is the best to mix the coconut milk or evaporated milk?

Hi. Bain Marie method ha or waterbath na tinatawag by placing all the three llenera sa large pan with water. Same time ng steaming time mga 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Medium size. Tatlo ang magagawa. Yes kung gusto mo lagyan ng vanilla pero you don't have to.

Yes water bath method. lagay mo lang sa larger pan. try mo at 375F for 45 minutes.

Tried both. The one with aluminum foil cover on each llanera sustained much flavor than the other batch with cheesecloth on the cover. 😊😊

Baka sobra sa steaming kaya matigas pag lamig. Malabot ito like cassava cake. Medium lang ang heat and dapat kumukulo na ang water pag steam mo.

The coco milk was just perfect! Will never use the evap ever! (well, maybe I'll use them when coco milk runs out- hopefully never)

When baking, is it a different recipe than steamed? I saw there’s evap milk and coconut milk used with condensed milk sa baking. But this recipe doesn’t have evap milk. Please clarify. I’m a new follower of your channel. Tuned in from NY. Thanks!

@@roxannecabral5030 mas tumitugas yung cassava na may gata, kaysa sa evap. usually, one hour ko niluluto yung cassava. recently, dalawa yung nilagay ko na itlog at mas malambot ang texture na. kahit iref ko, hindi gaano tumitigas yung may gata na version. pero careful lang kasi mas umaalsa siya.

I used a store-bought grated cassava na naka-pack d2 sa california and it is wet as it is previously frozen. I am not sure if it was previously squeezed but looking at it, I don't think it was.

Im planning to sell this so I need to cook in batches. I dont want to ruin the original taste of your recipe. Any suggestions? 😥🙏

Update: I squeezed the juice out before using the cassava, like really hard coz the excess juice affects the liquid proportion of the recipe. It turned out really well and yummy😌☺😊

Cassava is the name of the root crop. Tapioca is ONLY the starch that comes from cassava.
