1927 actually, although there is debate about it's serial number. The first Wurlitzer 153 did appear in 1916(serial 2962), the serial numbers beginning with 3000 started in 1916. In 1929 the serial numbers got to the 4000's. Kennywood's organ's serial number is reportedly 3938 and is probably original to the carousel. Dentzel sold their carousels with Wurlitzer 153's very often in the 1920's. Even Glen Echo Park's carousel had one which was quickly replaced by a Wurlitzer 157, then a Wurlitzer 165 a few more years later.
