We give a complete NO BULL review of our Toyota 79 Series Landcruiser, after owning it for 10 months. We discuss the PROS and CONS and the MODIFICATIONS we have had done but also discuss the modifications we feel DON”T need doing. We also highlight anything that’s gone wrong. We are Travelling Australia in our 79 Series and have been on gravel roads, sand dunes and a few 4WD tracks.

We get approx 21 when towing. To be honest I haven’t worked it out for when we’re not towing because we are travelling and towing most of the time. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed our video 😎

hi guys just wandering did you upgrade the clutch for towing? and do you tow in fifth gear, some people tell me when i get my van say in forth gear but i think it revs to much. and one more what rust proofing you use. Thanks guys

We use 5th gear when cruising along doing 90 to 100kms per hour. Clutch is original clutch. Spray underneath with lanolin 😀

Hey mate, I'm 6'4" and keen to get the seat further back (i.e. to extend the rails or mount the whole seat further back from the steering wheel). Do you know of anyone selling aftermarket rails/seats that can give additional slide? I somewhat foolishly thought it'd be an easy one to sort out, but I'm struggling to find other tall drivers who've tackled this.

Hi guys, like your channel, just wondering have you had your landcruiser 79 and Van set up weighed at all? and if so would you mind sharing your weights? I have Dual cab 79 on order and was looking at the exact same Norweld tray/canopy set up + ARB GVM upgrade you have, I will be towing a 3- 3.5t Van so just curious if i will still be ok on the rear axle with the Norweld Tray/canopy + Cargo + Van Tow ball weight.

Hi, we haven’t had it professionally weighed but we did go to a weighbridge with the Landcruiser fully loaded, was 3.6 ton. We had a gvm upgrade to 3950. We haven’t had our caravan weighed but the max is 2839, hope that helps 😊

great to hear you dont need to tune up the engine because as soon as U do that theres no warranty & dont need to change the seats i have a 2021 ranger & the seats R shit in it but i love the look of the 79 & the V8 sound

It’s tempting to get a tune but it costs thousands and you don’t really need it, glad we didn’t now as it voids the warranty. Really surprised the Ranger has uncomfortable seats, thought they would be ok. Thanks for watching 😊👍

Hey guys just came across your channel and subd, I have a 79 dual cab too, 2021, they do a really good centre console upgrade that gives you room for a fridge, two huge cup holders and a few big open compartments to put things in, I can send you a pic of mine if you would like to have a look, thought I’d share it with you as I think it’s a great little upgrade

If unloaded, does it really bouncing aroung and super harsh around regular roads as they say ?

I think it all depends on what kilo leaf springs you have and which suspension you have. We have 700 constant leaf springs and OMU adjustable suspension. Haven’t noticed any bouncing around when canopy is empty. We have never taken the canopy off and just had the tray so can’t answer you on that, cheers 😊
