We speak with Mahmood Mamdani, a professor of government at Columbia who has spoken with many of the pro-Palestine protesters camping out on school grounds to show solidarity with Gaza and demand the school divest from Israel. He says there is growing outrage from faculty after the school's leadership called in the police to raid the Gaza Solidarity Encampment and conduct mass arrests, while administrators have started suspending and evicting some students. "There has been no due process on the Columbia campus," says Mamdani.

How is this not Okay, but the riots from other protests that cost billion in damage, was fine? So it is ok to be upset and destroy everything around, but not ok to be upset that kids are being bombed, and people just want the mass killings to stop.
@jamiehoran3901
@jamiehoran3901 21 күн бұрын
Nope. None of it is okay. Nor is your misuse of the term "mass killing." Just do the math. 30,000 (of which 18,000 are combatants) is what part of 2.5:million people? 0.12 %. That's taking all 30,000. War is horrible. People die. Using these figures, all of which are provided by Hamas (except the 18000 figure, provided by the IDF) are suspect. Still, if we agree to use them, then the civilian to combatant ratio is astonishingly low. So low in fact, that no army in conflict with another army has ever approached such a ratio.

Different types of REAL antisemitism: True antisemitism: hate of all Jewish people, specifically for their faith, culture, and/or ethnicity. Antisemitism by proxy: hate of Israel’s actions, unfairly extrapolated to all Jewish people. *This is an important one because, while the antisemitic sentiment is real, it does not come from an antisemitic place; but rather from a place of outrage against Israel’s actions. If Israel were to stop their human rights violations, this goes away. What antisemitism ISN’T: protests and criticism of Israel for their egregious crimes against humanity. USA did not "negotiate" its statehood with UK, and Palestine does not need Israel's permission to be a state. UN Declaration on Universal Human Rights guarantees statehood to Palestine.

Antisemetism is hate for semetic people....jews not the only semites the peopel in gaza are also semites...but yeah you can hate a group for doing something without it being specifically BECAUSE of the group they are a part of but for outrage of the groups actions and behavior. That said, people should define what EXACTLY they are referring to when they are calling people antisemetic
@Traewing
@Traewing 21 күн бұрын
Antisemitism is any prejudice against semitic people, Arabs are a semitic people. The internet will tell you semitic means people who speak semitic languages (and that's half right as semi means half) but semitic actually means half African. If it pertained to language the definition would mean prejudice against any person who was bilingual. Not a person of a semi origin. But I agree with your terms as they relate to both Jews, Arabs and any semitic person.

I work as a translator and I keep receiving calls for help from desperate colleagues (translators and translation agencies) in Gaza and the West Bank because they fear the attack on Rafah which appears to be imminent. Is there any way we could set up a a relief fund of many people to SAVE LIVES? It should be possible! These people are suffering tremendously! Thank you for your input. STORY TABULA RASA PaulTeich©️10/07/2023 There was nobody there Everyone is from somewhere else We are all from the rift valley in Africa Originally Everyone else are immigrants who became indigenous somewhere else Perhaps Aboriginal Australians are indigenous, since their genetics are different from the rest of us Aboriginal Australians are about as Australian as Native Americans are American There was nobody there When the English landed in Australia which they originally used as a Penal colony, just like the New World they began to speak with the people that were there, the indigenous. The inquest saw animals they had never seen before. they pointed at a kangaroo and asked what it was. An Aborigine exclaimed, “Kangaroo”. Which in aborigine means, “ What the heck are you saying”? As an example of truth in history, we now have 33 different types of, “ I don’t know what you are sayings” hopping around Australia. There were 100 million people there in the New World. The indigenous people of the Americas crossed the bearing land bridge before Pangaea split and are probably from China Why do you think it looks like South America and Africa fit together like puzzle pieces? Columbus came to the Americas He was an Italian that spoke poor Spanish He looked at the blank slate with 100 million people on it that history would claim didn’t exist, ever He called them, Una Gente en Dios One people of God Because they seemed so natural and unified He did not call them, Indians, because he thought he landed in India India was called Hindustan at that time, and the whole thing was a miscommunication, redirection and narrative change by the rich white history writers to cover up their sins and perform damage control The then, indigenous people of the Americas were about as as Frosty the Snowman Blessed by the spirit with 100 million people and great resources and beauty The Europeans called it the New World They did not ask what it was already called They planted a flag, and said, I claimed this land on the authority of the king, who is divine rule, states that the king was sent here by God to rule the world It is possible that someone was misguided? Is it possible that everyone was misguided? The only people in this scenario that were not misguided, were the indigenous people who thought that no one owned the land or water A settler colonial project ensued 100 million people were exterminated The ones that were left were taken from the lush, green lands full of fruits, vegetables and game, and were herded into concentration camps in the desert with the scorpions and the snakes There was nobody there There was a holocaust in Germany during the Second World War™ People to not learn enough from the European hundred years war, or the first world war, and the powers that be were still performing the final solution to the bewildered heard when the people had bred above our food, allowance or rich guys wanted to reverse agrarian reform Christian fascists also called Christian Zionists and Christian Zionism predates, Jewish Zionism, did not want to have Jews living amongst them anymore, thought they were dirty, inferior, and just did not like them. The Christian Zionist had a great idea. They would ship the Jews to Palestine (named by England for the Philistines, who felt the same way about Jews as the English) that was a bustling hub of business and culture at the time There was a great ethnic diversity, and there was peace Then they wouldn’t have Jews in their neighborhoods anymore 3/4 of them would be killed by the people that already lived there and the other quarter would be converted to Christianity. They are by eradicating the problem of the Jewish people forever. There were a few problems 3% of the people that live there were Jewish More than 1 million people already lived there They had homes, neighborhoods, and families and cultures A settler, colonial project ensued Over 1 million people were forcibly evicted from their homes and land And untold number of them were exterminated The Palestinians that lived were herded into a concentration camp during 100 years war It started in 1917 and it’s still going on today Palestinians were kicked out of their homes and new people moved in It was the first NAKBA THAT’S WHY THERE ARE INTAFADAS The Palestinians still want their homes and olive Groves back Some of those homes are still there There are people who are alive who still remember The truth Revisionist history is very convenient for the occupiers What Hagel said, is that what we learn from history is that we don’t learn from history I learned that from Chris Hedges Strawberry Fieldsforever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still dont understand why "condemnation" by congress matters. who cares what they say. they've shown for decades that they do not represent the population; they represent the donor class, and we all know it. So why would anyone care what they might or might not condemn? Their condemnation has nothing to do with morality or legality. It's purely performative virtue signaling.

I know it sounds insane to the right but wanting genocide, apartheid and ethnic cleansing to stop doesn’t equate to the hatred of anyone. Now? If you’re supporting people who are pro these things, well that just makes you a horrible person. As an African American liberal I can speak to why we dislike and distrust the black conservative. They’re are typically speaking anti black racist talking points. This might blow your mind but not all black folks are on welfare. We are not all in gangs. We’re not all running around having babies out of wedlock. Most of us actually love and look out for our children. We work and we own homes and businesses. No here’s the paradox: without black and white progressives succeeding the civil rights movement of 1964, black conservatives would have zero voice. Now we’re there always blacks who hate other blacks and who therefore sided with WS ideology (I didn’t say white peoples, I said WS ideology) yes! We’ve always had the Thomas Sowells? The Candace Owenses and the Jesse Lee Petersons. I don’t look at them as coons or uncle toms/sambos. I look at them as leeches and barnacles. They are the blood suckers amongst us who benefits from our social successes yet they’re trying to suck the life out of us. If it was under my control I’d have the public education system to teach American history for real and in depth.

Someone who gets it. Now let me tell you this. The reason for the escalation of this war is farmers on the Gaza strip started digging up ancient artifacts. One they are calling a Byzantine floor, but I promise you they are lying. Another is an ancient Canaanite goddess. All of which would disprove Israel's claim to the land. They cleared the land (i.e. war on Israel) to conduct the largest archaeological dig the world has ever known) and America is funding it because it wants the treasures and technology. Search ancient relics found in Gaza. When it highlights farmer...it's a link to another farmer who found another relic. Also search more than one search engine, the pics are phenomenal.

This is the issue that needs to be cleared up. One is a religion, the other is a racist ideology that is currently practicing aparyheid in Israel and commiting genocide and ethniccleansing in Gaza and the West Bank . The Zionists can not hide behind Judaism any more. The bad actors must be brought to account and justice served to all.

Here’s a hearty borscht recipe for you to try: Ingredients: 2 large or 3 medium beets, peeled and grated 4 tablespoons cooking oil 1 medium onion, finely chopped 2 carrots, grated 1/2 head of cabbage, thinly sliced 3 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans with their juice 2 bay leaves 10 cups water or broth 6 tablespoons tomato paste 4 tablespoons lemon juice or vinegar 1 teaspoon sugar Salt and pepper to taste Sour cream and fresh herbs (dill or parsley), for garnish Instructions: Prepare the Vegetables: Preheat a large soup pot over medium heat. Sauté the onion in cooking oil until golden. Add the grated beets and carrots, and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add Liquids: Add 10 cups of water or broth, along with the tomato paste, lemon juice, sugar, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then add the sliced cabbage and potatoes. Cook for another 15-20 minutes, until the vegetables are tender. Beans and Final Touches: Add the kidney beans with their juice and bay leaves. Let the soup simmer for another 5 minutes. Adjust the seasoning with more salt, pepper, lemon juice, or vinegar if needed. Serve: Discard the bay leaves. Serve hot, garnished with a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of fresh herbs. Enjoy your delicious homemade borscht! Remember, you can adjust the ingredients and their quantities to suit your taste. Some people like to add meat to their borscht, while others prefer a vegetarian version. The key to a great borscht is the balance of sweet, sour, and savory flavors. Happy cooking!

The word Antisemite is a 150 year old German word that means "hatred of Jews." No one else. So this argument that Semites cannot be Antisemitic is an attempt to revise the meaning of the word. And antisemitism is prevalent in these countries. It won't wash.
