We recently had a real wild encounter in the Kruger National Park with the SANParks Honorary Rangers, who offer an authentic bush camp experience at their Nyarhi (Buffalo) Rustic Bush Camp venue.
We enjoyed the Kruger National Park on foot and experienced nature in a new way. It was a 3-night self-catering camp in the bush with our own dedicated game rangers, who took us on a number of guided walks during our stay. We pitched our tents in an unfenced area near Mopani Rest Camp in the Kruger Park. We were visited in the night by lion, elephant, and hyena (who stole our 7kg skottle gas bottle - we found it 500m metres away from camp in the middle of the bush). On our walks we encountered elephant, hyena, impala, warthog, zebra - we even tracked a lion!
This was a truly unique way to experience the Kruger National Park. There is nothing like standing metres away from a large African elephant bull with nothing to protect you except for a ranger and his rifle. It truly connects you to nature in a way that I have never felt before.
More information on the campsite, include contact and booking information can be found at www.sanparksvolunteers.org/ev...
My vehicle is a Ford Ranger Wildtrak (Thunder Edition) 2.0l bi-turbo diesel, fitted with a Front Runner Slimline II rack over the load bed, a Front Runner SlimSport rack on the roof, and a Front Runner Roof Top Tent.
For power I use a National Luna DC25 battery pack which is wired into my vehicle for charging whilst driving, and a solar panel for charging whilst in camp. I have a Dometic CFX 35 litre fridge, which runs off the National Luna DC25.
I also use a Jackery 200w Solar Power Station for charging cellphones, camera batteries etc.
All footage in this video was shot on a Canon EOS R mirrorless camera with an RF 24-105 L series lens, a Garmin Hero Black 7, a Garmin 55 Dashcam, and my Apple iPhone 13 Pro.
I am not sponsored by any of the above brands.

Thanks mate. It was a lot of fun! The sign at 11:45 says “The ruins of Malumzane - former game Ranger A.A. frazer’s quarters from 1904 - 1920”

@@CampSeekerAfrica I've done all of the Wilderness Trails except for Bushman's and Wolhuter. This one looks like a proper adventure though. Would it be easy enough to tow a 4x4 trailer to the camp?

@@TheOuboet Sorry, missed your response. Yes, it is easy to tow a 4x4 trailer to Nyarhi, shouldn't be any problem.

@@CampSeekerAfrica Thanks very much. I'll definitely consider this trail now. I just have to upgrade my solar panels first.

Yep, there is no power there, so solar panels are essential!
