No More Fishbowl! 30% Window and 70% Windshield Tint Before and After Toyota Supra

👋 Lets get the Supra's windows tinted! I have really been enjoying all of the modifications to the Supra, however the glass still looks like a fish bowl! So today I head to Sunstoppers to get window film installed. Todays they install Xpel XR Plus 70% film for the windshield to block all of the heat and UV rays. For the side windows we went with Xpel XR 30% film for a nice dark look and still will offer fantastic heat and UV rejection. All of this film is a ceramic film which is the best in the game and not only looks great on the Supra giving it a blacked out look still being legal, but also will keep the interior nice and cool. With my new wrap on the Supra I left the original black paint for the roof and trunk so with the windows tinted it really looks cool with the black out design on the roof and windows. Sunstoppers of Mathews NC just renovated their shop and it looks so cool with all the LED lights and the blue Supra looks so awesome! The team here at Sunstoppers got the Supra tinted in a short amount of time and it came out perfect! I've seen bad tint jobs where there is dirt behind the glass and jagged cuts, but they cut each window film using the plotter machine and were extremely diligent to keep all surfaces clean and free of any dirt. Very high quality tint job on my car and I love the new look going from stock to a 30% window tint!

It looks great bro, When I bought me another car couple months ago, I went ahead and got it tinted the next day 5% all windows 20% front windshield, Its illegal here in NC but I don't speed or do anything to bring attention to me

I did the exact same tint combo w ceramic tinting: 70% front and 30 everywhere else. Living in Florida though i now wish i had gone with 20’s

here in texas you cant have any tinting on the windshield you are only allowed a visor above the AS1 line. So even if you do a 50% on the windshield you will be spotted easily. Majority of cops wont pull you over so you could probably get away with it for a long time but it will happen eventually. Cause even though 50 isnt dark its obvious the windshield is tinted especially if you have the side windows at 35 or lower. It makes the overall car look much darker inside even with a 50 tint on the windshield. What ive done is 65 or 70 and never been pulled over because its clear enough where it can look like a factory tint. 65-70 is safe if you in a state that doesnt allow it. Been driving for 15years never had a problem. And your car will thank you. Also guys be very careful if your car has factory tints already on the car. Adding tints to an already factory set tint will make it darker than what you are actually getting.

Great tint job. Looks amazing on your supra. Do you have any "silvering" around the dot matrix vertical pattern on the edge side windows? I have a BMW 440i and got it tinted. It had the silvering which make it look poor (In my opinion). I had it removed. If you have no silvering, did the installer use a clay bar or brillo pad on the dot matrix before installing the tint? Thank for posting the video. Car is somking!

What I do. Just take a damp microfiber a few days later and rub it on the inside of the dots. Should clear it all up ;)

I wouldn’t go to 5%, way too dark for driving at night. Too dark for the day even as well.

Thanks! All the original paint is graphene coated. The wrap I did a ceramic spray way to shine it up. Love the look!

Plus now you don't have to use as much interior chemicals to clean and protect it since it's basically UV protected.

Expect around $400. But it depends on which Xpel series film you use and if you do a windshield or not. So a car like this could be $250 to $700 maybe. Definitely Devon a lot of factors

Looking to buy a supra or a LT1, how is the wind noise when driving the supra? I have heard that it can get pretty bad at 60+

Wind noise is fine. Honestly it’s very quiet and comfortable on the highway. Like a BMW. You just need the little wind diffusers on the mirrors to eliminate wind buffeting with your windows down. But these are very refined cars

used to do 70% on the windshield, but 60% (specifically 3M Crystalline 60 *is, looks, and performs the best hands down!!!!* )

Percentage doesn’t change the film blockage, just the darkness. So 70% and 60% perform the same lol

@@BrosFOURRSpeed what the point of going 70% on the windshield- still looks clear AF. Just had 70% Xpel Black XR removed from my windshield last week (which was only on for about a month)- replaced with 3M Crystalline 60 (sure cost more than twice as much, but the actual, measured 68 VLT from the Xpel 70, blows compared to the actual 52 VLT measured from 3M Crystalline 60, and from both the outside and inside looks so much better!!!! 😂

@@kendallhughes7507 depends on what the buyer wants. It gives the car the same protection and it’s less dark so that way it doesn’t look tinted. Some people like myself don’t want the dark windshield, since tinting a windshield it technically illegal, it doesn’t look tinted in certain light. It is still dark in less light. Do what works for you.

Is this ceramic tint or regular tint? I been debating this for my Mazda 3 HB that I just bought I am waiting to get the windshield tinted until spring but the tint shop told me its pointless to put 70% tint on the windshield unless its ceramic. Is that bullshit or true?

It's all ceramic tint. After having the windshield tinted on many cars. I will always do it. Makes a huge difference it keeping the heat out of the car. The 70% is just the darkness level. Still keeps nearly all the heat and UV rays out.

Ok that makes sense Ceramic is hella expensive in my area (maybe everywhere I don’t know) I went dyed tint because $700 ish to tint was a little out my budget but yours looks awesome@@BrosFOURRSpeed

@@ObjectFit Yeah I can see that. Longevity will be pretty difficult. Yours will probably fade to purple eventually and not actually block out any heat. So in a few years you might have to just get it redone

@@BrosFOURRSpeed Yea I thought about that but being in NJ having it garage kept and getting the ting from the xpel I believe it has a lifetime warranty against fading but you might be right if I do become unsatisfied in the future I can re-do it TBH. not sure if it costs more to have to remove old tints before replacement but I'm sure it does lol

@@ObjectFit If it’s Xpel you’re probably good then. Especially if it does have a lifetime warranty. I’ve been pretty happy with the XR tint on the Supra. Had XR Plus on other cars and I don’t notice a difference. So maybe you’ll be good. Just a little bit less heat protection

It’ll depend which level of tint you go with. They use three different Xpel levels. And size of your car. You’ll have to call them for a quote on your car. But if you go XR Plus all around with windshield. Expect about $400-$500 on a car like this. That’s their top trim level film
