If the reaction to Peter B. in Into The Spider-verse is any indication, people wanted Peter to be happy. People were happy to see Peter with MJ. He had a daughter. He was happy at long last. Spider-Man deserves to be happy.

We want Peter to have a family because of how much he means to us as a character, he deserves a happy life for a change for everything he's done and been through. It's funny because this echoes something I've been thinking for a while. Release 2 different stories with the same characters and then take them in different directions. And then see which one makes the most profit.

I'll buy this run for my son, nephew and myself. I've always seen Peter and Mary as the ultimate couple and what they have done to him since One More Day has irked me. Why can't some of our childhood heroes just have a happy, wholesome ending? I love the dark and gritty end for the Ninja Turtles so it's not like I want everything to be sunshine and rainbows.

As cool as it is to see Peter and MJ together in the Ultimate Universe, (as far as 616 goes MJ has been irreparably damaged and Paul can keep her) we won’t know how long this will last until Marvel Editorial gets involved again. After all if Pete ain’t suffering, he isn’t relatable to the audience in their eyes.

Stopped reading Amazing after One More Day. Came back for NICK Spencer’s run, when Peter and MJ got back together and MJ was treated right. Left again as soon as Nick’s run was over and they pulled that BS with MJ and Peter breaking up. I will give Ultimate a look. Loved Renew Your Vows. Marvel has no clue who their audience is. They seem to think it is still kids. It isn’t. Kids don’t care about American comics. That is why any bookstore has maybe one section of American comics and aisles full of manga.

Marvel should just replace the main continuity with Ultimate Spider-Man. The main line has been butchered so badly that any attempt to fix it would involve some level of rebooting anyway. RYV didn't find nearly as much success because Peter was relegated to a side character and they forced a time skip that turned the kid daughter into another teen hero.

I'm happy things are going well for the new ultimate Spiderman but I'm also waiting for the other shoe to drop. It gets too popular, then editorial is going to want to get it's grubby fingers in it and screw it all up. It's going to happen. Just a matter of when.

Stan Lee went through several rough patches in his life and he never brought down Spidey to his level for he knew that the character would get knocked down. But he always got back up for that is what Peter Parker/Spider-Man and that is why he is universally loved by the fans(not the shills, tourists or weak minded).

I'm 44 years old and I've been a Spider-Man fan since I was two. At the age of seven or eight I started reading loose comics that I found. Where I live it was not easy to properly collect a comic series, since there was no official comic book store, I depended on the owners of different magazine stores acquiring the series on a regular basis, which did not happened frequently. It wasn't until I was 18 that they opened a real comic book store and I was able to start collecting Amazing Spider-Man regularly to this day, only missing ONE issue (and it caused I changed my store). I collected Amazing and other Spiderman comics they released. I'm sick of what Marvel is doing with the character. Spidey has been more than just a character for me: his struggles helped me to deal with mine, his moral code forged mine and his adventures were a escape gate to my life in hard moments. For that reason, the way Marvel treats the character feels like a betrayal, as if they were hurting a real friend and not a fictional character, as weird as it may sound. I feel that they treat the character better in limited series parallel to the canon like Renew Your Vows or Dark Ages, series in which they allow the character to grow, be the great hero we know he is and taste a slice of happiness despite all the inconveniences that the plot puts in front of him. Nowadays I have at least 10 issues of Amazing unread because I'm too lazy to deal with Marvel's latest sadistic idea to denigrate my favorite character. That's why the new Ultimate line has been a nice breath of fresh air. Btw, I loved this video. It’s great 👍🏼

I started buying this book when it started getting some attention around issue 3 or 4. It's the first American comic I've ever bought I was into manga as a kid but never comics. Been really enjoying this and will definitely continue to support it if it stays on this path

Issue 1 was amazing and talked about so much I never thought I would hear again.

What makes Spiderman so admired is that he's a relatable guy. He struggles over rent, relationships, and balancing the things in his life like everyone else and insists on trying his best to be a good person through it all. But there's a difference between relatable strife and being forced through unnecessary cruelty with no resolution. Like wtf is the point of Paul? What the hell is the ultimate end goal here? Because if it's just to cuck Spiderman, that's just shitty writing. It would be like seeing Uncle Ben dying but Peter never becomes Spiderman. We just watch this dude moping around mourning and being pathetic.

I'm not a comic book reader, but knowing that there is a comic series that is doing this, not just for the fans, but treating the character of Spider-Man with respect and kindness and all, makes me happy.
