Perfect tips, Taz. I only have one to add, be sure to wash your hands before touching your wig, to remove any makeup, lotion, oil, etc. Don't wanna gunk up the fibers. ☺

This is the video I didn’t know I needed 🤣. My Belletress Arista has been a stringy mess since right after I got her. I’ve tried about everything I can think of but within an hour of wearing her she gets stringy all over again. I’ll pick up some batiste today to see if it helps. If not, Arista might end up as a pixie😮 lol. Thanks, Taz!

@@TAZSWIGCLOSET using the Batiste did help Arista but she still seems kinda messy . I think overall it’s just the way she was made. I’ve seen other Arista’s that looked really nice, but mine, not so much. I’ll continue to use this product though because I think it works better than the other dry shampoos I have 👍😘

I had the same thing with my BT Calif beach waves. It's so pretty but it really doesn't take much at all before it's all stringy again. I keep putting my silicone spray and detangling product. Stringy. I'll try this out. Thanks, Tax

Oh yay! I tried to figure out a method that works without having to wash the wig. I find that each time I wash a wig, it loses a bit of its resilience, so I want to preserve it as long as possible! Hugs! XOOX

Hey Taz, great video! I would like to share my experience using dry shampoo-caution. I used Batiste to tone down the shine on one of my non HF wigs. Try doing it over the bathtub or outside otherwise the residue will end up all over the floor and sink. Even after combing thru after the application it will eventually deposit on your clothing. I couldn't figure out why a beautiful black top looked chalky by end of day. So weird. BTW, this was a long wig worn as an updo so it did not brush my shoulders. I finally washed the wig and it toned down the shine. I hope this helps others who have not tried dry shampoo on their wigs.

Oh my goodness,this couldn't be more timely. I washed my Editor's Pick for the first time and used too much Simply Stylin' silk spray. It looks stringy 😖 I'm definitely buying this dry shampoo. Thx, Taz! Yes, I’ve noticed such a difference in the dry shampoos I’ve tried. I’ve tended to stay away from HF fibers (or gotten rid of them quickly) because of this issue. I’m going to try it!🌼🌸♥️

Hope this improves the HF wigs for you! It's not a permanent solution, but I find by coating the fiber with a bit of talcum keeps the fibers separated longer than if I hadn't..lol. Best! XOXO

Great tips! So, any suggestions for smoke smell? (I've never smoked), but we do love to sit around a fire pit quite often. I'm hoping you can advise how to remove the smell without washing the wig ever time. As I'm waiting on my RW wigs to be delivered, I'm visiting your Amazon Store to shop for clips I've never been able to wear before (not enough hair) and products to keep these wig investments at their best. I'm so grateful you have organized a list of helpful videos & even an Amazon Store for us all, makes it so much easier on us newbies!!

Thanks for the comments! If you spritz with water and allow to thoroughly dry, the smoke will dissipate. Synthetic fiber is not porous like human hair, it cannot take smells into the fiber rather the smells lay on top of the fiber and will dissipate with time XOXO

Hehe.. Hi Cyn! I find this helps me resist the too frequent washing of wigs.. and the talcum really does seem to shake out well and the stuff that does remain seems to bind to fiber and become a little more transparent. Hugs! XOXO

I think talcum excess shakes out pretty easily and the remainder blends in pretty well.. but I have not tried on a dark brunette. Hopefully a viewer can comment on this! XOOX

I have try on dark brunette wigs this dry shampoo and other brands too, even for brunettes. Sadly doesn't work for my dark brunette wigs. No matter how much I shake the wigs after...they look like I have flour in my hair. If someone know how to reduce the shine in brunette wigs, please help us.

Good morning TAZ ! I personally do not like the look or feel of heat friendly wigs! Plus to curl them to me is a pain! But I've only bought cheaper HF wigs that might make a difference! Have u ever did a video on curling a HF wig? Be nice to see! I had one I curled took me forever problem is I didn't like it curly and I could never get it back to straight again! Any suggestions! Hello there! I filmed this months ago during the winter.. other videos have taken priority since then so I pushed it back:-) I hope to update all my NEW TO WIGS videos this year.. fingers crossed I will have the time! My wig washing is super basic.. basic is best I think.. synthetic wig shampoo and rinse, conditioner soak and rinse, leave in spray conditioner, tamp dry and leave upside down on robe hook in shower or wig stand to dry thoroughly. I am not opposed to fabric softener, but I'm getting best results with these basics. XOXO

Great suggestions Taz!!!! I am having a problem with a couple of my Belle Tress wigs. After I wear them for even an hour they become matted and frizzy looking at the ends and nape. I always comb them out after wearing. I use simply styling spray and make sure I don’t use too much products so it doesn’t get gummy…. I have tried detangling spray…. Do you have any suggestions? Nothing that I am doing is working that much. A also bring a wide tooth comb with me and periodically comb through them too…. Thank you my sweet beautiful friend! 😘

Hi Jennifer! Thanks for the comments! I think we all wear wig differently... if someone moves around a lot (head and shoulders) I think the matting will be worse due to excessive friction.. I try to wear mine up in a pony or loose low bun to reduce the friction. I don't think there's anyway to stop it short of restricting movement of head and shoulders (funny "tinman" images coming to mind..lol!) I wish there was a magic bullet of a solution!! XOXO

I need help I bought a wig off azmon and when I frist time I put it on it got bad static and then frizz then knots I tried Washing it and delmgler spray and it didn't help with it I need help please

I am so happy I found you I just gave in and bought my first wig and it is weird to get used to. And people say oh I love your hair and I want to hide because it is a wig. But my hair loss was getting pretty bad. So how did you get over it and learn to play around with style and color? You work in an office do you where same one to work only? Another thing it kinda keeps slipping and oh yeah 🥵 my hair was so thin it was not hot help

I have the Editor's Elite how do I keep the hair off my face like what you did, I notice that my 3 Rachael Welch wigs tend to fall in front of my face causing me to constantly push it off my face...thank you

Taz I have a question for you. I wash my wigs an then I use a leave in conditioner that’s for wigs my question is do you use both the creamy conditioner that you rinse out an the leave in conditioner. I find that when use the creamy conditioner I rinse really good but when the wig try’s it seams filly…What is your opinion i would love to hear from you….thank you😍

Hi there! I use both. After shampoo and thorough rinse, I do a conditioner soak (5 minutes or up to an hour), rinse very well, tamp dry with towel and finish by liberally spraying conditioning spray…dry upside down on robe hook or on wig stand. I use all Jon Renau products at the moment. I’m not opposed to fabric softener, I just rarely do it anymore as the basic products work just as well. If the wig feels dirty/gummy after through rinse and dry, try skipping the spray conditioner step snd see if it improves. Sometimes it’s just the wig fibers.. they lose resilience after washing which may cause the “dirty” feeling. Hope this helps! 💕💕💕

All wigs get frizzy in area where they have contact or friction:-) HD fiber tends to be more sensitive to friction. XOXO
