My mother was not a perfect person but my father loved her until he died. She chose substance use and domestic violence over him. She divorced him, got with a person who hurt her, and my father did everything to save her. She resisted him. She forced me to watch her get abused physically and life threatened with a knife around her throat too. I was only 11 years old. When I ran out Into traffic risking being hit by a car at any given moment, I called 9-1-1 and she denied the abuse to the law enforcement. She protected the person who left me traumatized by his threats used against her. A year passed, the same person promised my father that he would take care of me like a step father would. My father passed away months later from stage four lung cancer, and this person started alcoholic abuse once again. Years passed, and I was forced to live in a home constantly hearing two people fighting and arguing. There were days were I was included in the arguments and if I did not defend one person, I had objects thrown at me. I was physically harmed. To protect myself, I stayed in my bedroom. I never came out unless I showered or left for school. When I returned back home, I locked myself Inside of my bedroom. I refused to come out only to shower and leave for school. Even at school, I never ate food. I skipped lunch and stayed In the bathroom. I neglected my body to discipline myself. I blamed myself for everything that happened because of how I grew up. People noticed at school my health and my body weight. Instead of offering help, they bullied me. Finally once I turned 18, I graduated from high school. My mother attended my graduation but once the celebration ended she left from my life. She stopped communicating with me. Once I graduated, my second sister forced me to live in my family home, where she and her narcissistic husband started abusing and neglecting me even worse. I was forced to get my first job. I was forced to give them every Income that I owned and earned. I was forced to lock myself In a bedroom without bedding and warmth. I was forced to starve myself. I attempted to eat at my Job, but they noticed I gained weight or that money was missing from my Income and they would get angry at me. They would hurt me. There were times I had bleach sprayed In my eyes and mouth. They did not care about the risks they took to harm me either. Eventually after sneaking small portions of food, they started using padlocks on the cabinets and Installed cameras In the bathroom. They watched me shower and use the bathroom. When I ran away from home, they started locking up my bedroom windows. One day, my next door neighbor offered a housekeeping job to me, this is where I was able to flee from my abuse and neglect. My neighbor saved me and moved me into her home. After housekeeping for her, I was able to find my happiness and work on myself. I eventually started using social media and I found my husband from it. Now I live pain free and happier than ever.
