We all choose cute things for our home - souvenirs, paintings, mirrors... All these items make the atmosphere in the house warmer and more comfortable. We do some things ourselves, because accessories made with our own hands are even closer and dearer, because we like them, made with desire and love.
Somehow I came across a photograph of an unusual vase in the shape of a bear cub on the Internet and saved it to make later.
I didn’t make it for a long time because I didn’t know what to make it out of. The first thing that comes to mind is cement. But despite its simplicity, this material is very difficult to work with. It just seems like you have blinded it and everything will work out right away.
In fact, cement floats, slides, and deforms when drying. When you watch the videos, they sculpt him like plasticine. But no one says what else is added there to make it plastic. Just yesterday I sculpted a bird, it took me over an hour to get something similar.
In the office department I bought modeling, hardening paste 500 grams for my craft, the price is a little more than 200 rubles. per package.
For the base I took a bottle of mouthwash. I cut it to the required length. The bubble should be such that it tapers at the top.
I rolled out the paste into a flat cake, 3-4 mm thick, and placed it on both sides of the bottle, made a cut on the sides and removed the excess.
When everything was dry, I sealed the cracks and attached the ears.
Paws with a secret, the bear cub will hold flowers (dried flowers or artificial) in them. I put toothpicks in them for this.
Then I attached the spout. Before each operation I dried everything well.
I painted it with light brown paint, close in color to the original.
Then paint the nose and eyes with white paint. Last but not least are blackheads.
After drying, the dark brown acrylic paint was diluted with water and sprinkled on the dots using a toothbrush.
The cuteness is just off the charts.
Such a vase will definitely not go unnoticed, but someone buys them, and we made them ourselves, too, beautifully.
