The Black Rabbit Brotherhood fight seems completely ridiculous until you realize the elder becomes more docile when a sibling is down there fighting you. He'll hang back and occasionally do a pretty easy to dodge charge attack. As far as multi enemy fights go, I think it's actually really good once you understand how the fight is supposed to go.

@@Quoisboy No, I've 100% all fromsoft games and lies of P is definitely up there with bloodborne and sekiro, the combat is phenomenal and the weapon system is very creative. That plus the many things they innovated on, The arm, fable arts, character customization being separate from stats, etc. This game is great and should be compared with main FromSoft titles.

@@FrancoGM I know this comment is months old but I just want to share my thoughts anyway after buying and beating it over a week. The game is good, sure. I think it's better than Dark souls 2 and second half of Dark souls 1. On par with Bloodborne and Sekiro though, I personally disagree. I'd give you my reason, but I don't think you wanna see a paragraph. When it comes to top rankings of souls like including From titles, it's in my top 7 which is a high spot tbh.

Tip: Can be considered cheesy but if you really need your fable arts full you can teleport to the hotel, go into the weapon testing area and it fully fills your fable for free

I never even used the fable arts. Or throwable items. I just went with a Greatsword and stuck with the basics: parry, dodge, strike. If I was one hit away from phase shift or kill I would sometimes use Falcon Eyes from a distance. Against Laxa I decided to tank her flurries in phase 2 with blocks though, which worked way better than failing with the parries.

Idk HOW he only thinks this game is decent. The amount of bad souls like games that exist this is easily a top 3 in that category. Probably the only game to come close to bloodbournes atmosphere & gritty nature. Keep in mind this isn’t some massive company either.

I like it better than nioh and all the other action RPGs that rival fromsoft. And i definitely like it more than ds 1 2 bloodborne sekiro. The visuals and the satisfaction of getting perfect parries, stance breaking after learning a boss is second to none. Difficulty is the most rewarding challenge to overcome in my opinion.

Like this games gotta be a straight masterpiece if it's better than all of those, Bloodborne a top 5 game of all time for me so that's INSANELY high praise for Lies of P if people think it's THAT good. From what I've seen there's just no way but like I said, Haven't played it myself yet.

@@butterschunkmcdonalds5333 I didn't like nioh 1 very much nioh 2 was definitely better but didn't rank anywhere near bloodborne for me. Maybe it's just because it's a new game and when these new action RPGs come out I'm hopeful for a new exciting experience like I felt when I first played bloodborne for the first time. And lies of p accomplished that. The challenging combat is exhilarating barely beating a boss with no heals left or successfully parrying a flurry of attacks and punishing with a fatal attack is satisfying to a degree I haven't had since beating kos for the first time. Lies of p has the bosses that fulfill that sense of accomplishment like no other game every boss in lies of p after the robot in venignis factory is bloodborne dlc level

Throwables are clutch for those snipers, and even bosses. I spec’d nothing into Advance and they still did an absurd amount of damage. You just lockon to an enemy and he’ll autothrow it directly on them regardless of distance. If you can lock on you’re going to hit the enemy with it as long as there’s nothing blocking the way. Also for more fable in a pinch head back to the training room at the hotel and it just fills you up.

Complains about the short version of the sword being shit and not having the fable to go into spear form. Man I wonder if there's an item in his inventory that he probably has a dozen or more of at this point that could completely negate that issue for him. Sucks he doesn't read item descriptions or actually ever open his inventory besides when he gets a new weapon. I understand he's got stream chat to look at, but man could definitely be a bit more attentive.

Jesus Christ Charlie complaining about a weapon, that isn’t even that slow, being slow as fuck without using run attacks which are faster, or playing smart and letting the enemy attack first then punishing them just further proves Charlie isn’t really enjoying the game because he’s rushing it. Then when someone says that they really enjoy the game more than other games that he’s liked he’s fucking baffled acting like it’s a fact this isn’t as good as a FromSoft game (something a lot of people would disagree with) instead of being like “oh I see I understand your opinion while I don’t agree I can respect that this is something you really enjoy” for someone who has always said he doesn’t wanna be surrounded by people who share an opinion with him, he often gives off a vibe that screams “my opinion is fact and if you don’t agree you’re stupid” am I crazy or has anyone else felt this way

Lies of P is the only soulslike game that I actually like I normally don’t like souls like games because they don’t have that Fromsoft feel. This has it. It’s very linear but I highly enjoyed it.

*In my opinion*, aesthetic/graphics mean nothing if the gameplay/depth lacks and has clear jankyness instead of smooth gameplay like Nioh & Sekiro do. A more proper comparison would be between LoP and Demon's Souls for example, fromsoft's first attempt at a soulsborne genre title as LoP is this devs' first, in which, LoP is superior to DS.

I like the Nioh games, but the stories, especially the second one, aren't very strong. You never interact with any characters outside the cutscenes, and the mission system isnt as fun as an interconnected world. Still great combat though, and I like the monsters. Weaving in Japans folklore and history was a good idea. I like Lies of P better though. So far.

I mean, it was definitely better than Dark Souls and Elden Ring. There is no shot it beats Sekiro and Bloodborne though, it would have had to be released before them for that to be possible. Since it's basically a Bloodborne reskin with a Sekiro parry. So yeah, definitely From quality.

I don’t mind the attack on the Holy Sword of the Ark while it’s not a spear. I think it’s great either way. I actually tend to use it in its normal state as it does a pretty good amount more damage than when it’s a spear.

@xsorbs3109 regardless of what anyone says LoP is it's own game which has a target audience of souls/bourne enthusiasts. They hit every nail on the head in terms of what we like and what makes a game in this genre good. They crossed no lines and did a great job making their own bosses with unique movesets. You forget this game was developed by a South Korean studio completely new to soulslikes and you are gate keeping yourself from an awesome experience being upset about a game that fits perfectly in its genre.

@@xsorbs3109 I would say that it plays exactly like Bloodborne but with a Sekiro parry. But not to the extent of copyright infringement. If Lies of P can't exist, then no Soulslike except Soulsborne can. Which would be a "monopoly" situation for FromSoft. And without competition they would grow fat and lazy after a while, it ruins creativity and therefore progression. Which is detrimental to the consumer. Maybe FromSoft will get inspired by some aspect of LoP and tweak it into something amazing in their next title. Laxa and Nameless Puppet are way better fights than any boss in Dark Souls, even Ripstein & Fatboy. They are arguably better than every Bloodborne boss too, except for maybe Maria. Of course, they are not even close to the best bosses in Sekiro. I haven't played DS2 and DS3 yet and in Elden Ring I went with a magic build, so it's hard for me to judge those fights. I can only judge the difficulty of Elden Ring which was far too easy. To the point of boredom.

As much of a pain as it is. You can go back to hotel krats training spot to get full fable stots. If you get the p organ upgrades for more fable it makes it even better

loved this game. story’s really good imo, engaging world building and the lying part is a nice touch, like instead of just watching the story of 2 side characters you’re making choices that will influence how they feel. i think at least in that sense its def high up there among soulslikes

Definitely Fromsoft quality, you mean to tell me it doesn’t hold up to Demon Souls, Ds1, or Ds2? Lop story is easy to follow and straight to the point, the visuals are insane, the mechanics are very polished. Can’t say that about Ds1 or Ds2. It obviously doesn’t compare to Bloodborne, Elden ring, or Sekiro, because those are done extremely well in terms of Fromsoft expectations, but to snark at someones opinion about Lop being up there with Fromsoft is a bit meat riding if you ask me, better yet ask Moby Huge.

You have to put things into context. When DS1 released, it was so revolutionnary it created a while new genre of games, which lies of p builds upon. But overall i don't disagree with your sentiment, in my book lies of p is the best soulslike ( non-fromsoftware that is) so far. We'll have to see if the upcoming lords of the fallen snatches that title 😅

@@FiosoDBM Graphical quality isn't opinion based. It's factually quantifiable. Demon's Souls, FF16, RDR2, HFW, Cyberpunk 2077 with RT are all insane and cutting edge. Lies of P is not. Lies of P does nothing new or great to be warranted being called "insane". It's very standard. And about the gameplay, it's pretty damn clunky and the animations are box standard and lack any artistic design or soul. The only thing that's insane about Lies of P is the ability to play as a twink.

@@zsomborbudai7473i guess so. he hasn’t rlly spoke on it at all, if i had to guess he probably isn’t too impressed with the game considering it’s not mainstream and as talked about like elden ring was, not to mention he doesn’t bother reading any of the tips the game gives him on how to use things, and he doesn’t care for the lore at all and skips it all including the collectibles. he doesn’t upgrade his weapons even though being almost halfway thru the game, and he struggles badly against some of the weakest bosses in this game because of his lack of interest. i’ve seen his entire souls play through and i can’t remember the last time i’ve seen him struggle this bad against some of the weakest bosses in a game. maybe he hates that he can’t spam panic dodge through the bosses like he did through elden ring but i rlly hope he picks this game back up and tries to actually play it to its fullest potential

Charlie I love you, but the game is one of the most if not the most polished souls-like, even more so than DS2, 3, Demon Souls, even blood borne id say. It miles better than either nioh games. I’d put it behind only DS3 and Elden ring. Probably on par with sekiro and bloodborne since it feels like a mix of the two.

It’s not that serious to even say fromsoft quality lol it’s clunky and takes tools that are essential to make the fromsoft perfection and throws them out the window. Who in their right mind would have a capacity and stamina be separate ?poor decision making is the result.

Sequel to Lies of P will be called Lies of D no joke possible Wizard of Oz DLC or maybe we’ll get that sequel. Neowiz and Round 8 made an absolute banger I have a skill issue though cause I’m stuck on Fallen ArchBishop Andreus easily the hardest game I ever played never played Sekiro cause I’m terrified of it and not good at parrying got Demon’s S DS1-3 and BB but not Sekiro Nioh 1 2 or Wo Long Fallen Dynasty but this game is hard as hell. Challenging brutally punishing and absolutely beautiful spin on the Bèlle Epoque Era Would love to see them do Wizard of Oz.

Fallen Archibishop is the easiest boss in game. I beat him in 2 tries. First, get thermites, farm them on moonlight village area, also fire abrasive if you have any (this one doesn’t matter much). Now start, and use the spectre summon. For phase 1, The Boss has a very clear and easy attack pattern and always does the same, 3 hit arm combo, 2 hit tongue, and one both both arms, and dodge the red one. Right when you start throw 2-3 thermites at him, half of his health will be gone. Use your flamberge to stack fire damage when he is focused on the spectre, and dodge/attack at whatever health is left for the boss, you should bring him down in less than 30 seconds, for second phase let the spectre run towards him first to catch his aggro and you try and move to the other slower head of his, again throw some thermites and repeat the fight from phase 1. Easy. Just watch out for the canon attack, run as far as possible. And done. Fire damage is key, use your grindstone for fire stats on your weapon in phase 2. I used Booster Glaive Blade + fire axe handle (+5) on a motivity build. Got him down in under a minute and half.

If you are stuck on any boss after chapter 5 theres a really easy cheese method if you wanna use it. Go to the 2nd checkpoint in chapter 5 , inside the hotel and up a ladder theres a merchant that sells unlimited throwables. Buy up the max amt u can get and spam it at the bosses. I tried it on all the bosses during my 2nd run and jts usually enough to take down 1 whole phase at least

It’s ok. People saying is FromSoft quality are crazy though. I don’t like how linear it is compared to something like Bloodborne. Also the enemies barely stagger. It could’ve used more polishing but it’s a good game.

Or just an extension to an already amazing game, like The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine. Perfect DLC to end off a perfect game. Or Far Harbour for Fallout 4 is actually better than the game itself. (never had a PS so cant judge the other 2, and nioh doesnt seem intresting to me but could be great idk)

9:45 I agree with Charlie. Hell, I don't think there are any Souls-likes that is as polished as Fromsoft's well, Souls games. The only game that I think "rivals" Fromsoft's polishness is, as Charlie said, Nioh. Even so, I still think they are not as polished as Fromsoft's Souls games.

@@ncrtrooper4104 Yup. It’s crazy to think that there are now a lot of good Souls-likes. I remember back then around 2016-17, which is around the time where Souls-likes started to become popular, not a lot of games are able to capture the feeling of Fromsoft’s Souls games. I think The Surge and Nioh are the only two games that are actually well made. But right now, Lies of P did a fantastic job on capturing that Souls feel.

Want to shout you out, luv your gaming vids, me and my lil ones watch and enjoy...but the part of the guy in your comments stating, "this is the best Souls like game...Yea im gonna agree with you, little too far with that one, is he sponsoring? lol This game I played the Demo I was interested cause I played beat every Souls and recently beat a Bloodborne ng+ being that I beat it like back when it released like 2015 or so, this one is great but this game should lead newcomers down that Souls From Software library, maybe starting with BB even the first one of the Souls series with the choppy graphics and s$#@ because they all are still great. I'm about to do a ng+ on DS3 and I haven't played it in years but still have my save files backed up to my PS5 console. But I'm going to buy this but I got Spoiled off the other Souls like games but more like an offspring epicness games like Nioh 1/2 Wo Long Fallen Dynasty and at the moment I'm replying Sekiro NG+ With Demon bell rung...Lies of P feels cool but Im going to buy it and play it through because imo if it's playing exactly like the demo it's a ok version like BB but its not BB... Because Bloodborne to this day holds up with movement and all around mystery fun and enemies were pretty clever and challenging...I hope they make a Bloodborne 2 and or a Bloodborne remastered with least 60fps. If a Bloodborne 2 gets announced I'll new game +++ Imo Bloodborne is the best Souls Game but I love the f out of Dark Souls as well. If they announce a Dark Souls 4 OMG I'll be Hyped AF as well peace ✌️🙏 Keep up the cool AF vids.

Charlie didn't even address it. because charlie was streaming on twitch. there's simply no way that this is a real clips channel and if you didn't know. clips are a shorter version this channel just has the same exact video but reposted

I've tried Dark Souls III, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. Could never really get into them. They're good games, but I find them clunky and repetitive. I just don't have fun. However, Lies of P is the first Soulslike game I actually really enjoy. There's something about the fluidity of the combat, the art direction and general vibe that just sucks me in. Yes, the story and premise are silly and absurd, but the combat just feels so good.

I actually can’t stand watching him play this game. Not everyone has to be interested in the story/lore. But he complains about not being able to use his weapons handle fable art until he gains a fable bar. When he has fable catalysts in his inventory. He dismisses the Venigni cipher as worthless lore, doesn’t even bother to see it’s a clue to an item. He would miss so much without chat telling him things. I guess everyone enjoys games differently but he if does a moist meter and doesnt give this at least a 90%, I’m going to be so frustrated

Naw I beat Mortal Shell after playing Bloodborne DS123 Sekiro...MS is ok and unique in its own right especially with that freeze parry shell technique I give it a Solid 7.3. I enjoyed Mortal Shell.
