Most fishermen hate Chain Pickerel! They are agressive and known for biting off a few expensive baits! The guy I met was chucking them in the bushes!!! But catching them on a heavy leader on the fly rod is a blast!!!

Josh, you are correct. Chain pickerel are a native fish in NH. They are a hoot to catch on a fly rod for sure!

Carp have pretty well destroyed our river systems here in Australia, made the water so murky and dirty the native fish struggle to survive unfortunately

Any fish that can make you bleed if it bites you is worthy quarry. I love targeting pickerels.

I prefer Pickerel over bass. Theyre native, prettier, and fight harder. Bass are invasive imo. People need to leave the native esox alone.
