The killer was released prematurely in 2018 due to good behaviour and Sabrina didnt object. Btw Sabrina passed away 2 years ago due to illness. I feel its a very sad ending for their whole family, they deserved better.

Jessica was a bright shining star. She was our senior in school and she was always so nice to us younger schoolmates. Sabrina was the more sedate one.

The more significant questions are - 1. In how many such cases, does one get a police cop, who is willing to fight for the right ? 2. In how many cases, the victim's family has the courage to go to court and fight for years and decades ? 3. In how many cases today, does the media support the genuine cases and not favours the ones in power. Sadly in today's scenario, media is heavily tilted towards the later side. 4. Considering the huge backlog of cases in Indian judiciary system, in how many cases does the justice get delivered in mere 6-7 years ? 5. How many of such genuine cases reach till the Honorable President of India for reconsidering.

Fact:- ‘Sabrina Lal’ died in 2021 due to prolonged illness and the the guy who killed ‘Jessica Lal’ was ‘Manu Sharma’. he was released from prison in 2020 on good behaviour, before dying ‘Sabrina Lal’ said in a letter to the welfare office of Tihar jail that she had no objection to the release of ‘Manu Sharma’ eventually she forgave him.

I knew Manu Sharma released but did not know about Sabrina. May her soul rests in peace. Btw Manu sharma was going to release anyway in 2023 after completing his sentence.

He got married, finished his degree while in jail. Was in and out citing his parents were ill. While Jessica never got to live her life and her parents & sister also died. So much mental and emotional trauma can eat you physically as well. He ruined her entire family.

On 2018, Sabrina Lal, the only surviving family member of Jessica Lal said in a letter to the welfare office of Tihar jail that she had no objection to the release of Manu Sharma as he had spent 15 years in prison.[32] On 2 June 2020, Delhi Lieutenant Governor allowed the release of Sharma after a recommendation by the Sentence Review Board (SRB).[33] The decision was taken by SRB on 13 May 2020 under the chairmanship of Delhi Home Minister, Satyendra Jain. His sentence was supposed to end on 6 May 2023.[citation needed] On 18 December 2006, the High Court ruled Sharma guilty of murdering Jessica Lal and sentenced him to life imprisonment. After conviction, he was imprisoned in the Tihar Jail. Sharma appealed to the Supreme Court of India through his counsel Ram Jethmalani. However, the court upheld his sentence of life imprisonment on 19 April 2010. wikipedia

This is so true 😢 there are thousands of cases like that where powerful people killed someone and they got away , like salman khan got away from the case of killing people of the footpath and people have forgotten that case too , like jessica no one killed them too, they said the driver did it but in early there was no driver with him with time they changed the suspect from Salman to the driver 😢 and i work in jail and i know few people like that and they get away after 2 or 3 years under trail jail custody from murder case , most of the time " no one killed them "

Important Updates: The murderer was granted bail. In 2018, Sabrina wrote a letter to jail authorities that she had no objections with the guy's release. He was out on bail multiple times, at one point was even allowed out of jail everyday from 8AM to 5PM. He was released early in 2020 on grounds of good behavior. Sabrina died in 2021 after a long lasting battle with liver ailments.

Unfortunately Manu Sharma the real murderer, Manish Bharadwaj is based on, got released in 2020. His father Vinod Sharma was an MLA in Haryana state govt & stayed in his office till 2014, while his mother Shakti Rani Sharma was the mayor of Amblana, Haryana. His uncle is a member of U.P state assembly and his own brother is a Upper house member in the Parliament.
