The easiest way to determine what era of West Wing you’re in is by CJ’s hair style

I love CJ’s professionalism. She could’ve gone berserk. She could’ve said, “I was kept in the dark for a few hours and now I’m going to be made a fool in front of the entire press pool?” But she took it all in stride.

To their credit, they didn't really make that mistake again. CJ was completely right.

This was based on an actual events in the Clinton Presidency. Dee Dee Myers told how the White House would often keep her out of the loop, then she would get blasted by the press corps for either misleading them or not giving them pertinent information. Myers said she went home crying more than once.

I like how this comes up later on, when the team still has doubts about CJ's relationships with the press pool. Another situation arises where CJ needs to lie to the press and Leo tries saying something like "You had a problem lying to the press before," and CJ fires back, "No, *I* was lied to by *you*, which made *me* look like an idiot." I also seem to recall that this was based on something real that happened to Dee Dee Myers in the early years of the Clinton White House.

So Classy how CJ handled this situation. LOVED when CJ told Toby "Well?...Apologize"! And Toby said he was trying to make it nicer than that! 🤣🤣🤣

Nothing worse than having egg on your face, worse when it's not even your fault. CJ played it off profesionally and cool, even though she had every right not to

I will say that she wouldn't have had as much egg on her face if she hadn't been quite so glib with her answer. When there's a source on something that serious, who has specific data, and works somewhere that it's plausible they would know, don't just brush it off. "I haven't been briefed on anything like that, but I'll see if I can find out."

Why did they edit out of the funny from the end of the scene? "Whose idea was it?" "Mine," Toby says, "You were the one who said India's invaded Pakistan. Let's not tell C.J." "I didn't say it like that." "How did you say it?" "I said it nicer."

How does warships reach Kashmir?
@acg452
@acg452 Ай бұрын
Destroyers are armed with surface-to-surface missiles. ICBMs can go way further than the ocean to Kashmir, I don't imagine that building a shorter range weapon would be that difficult.
@Manish_Kumar_Singh
@Manish_Kumar_Singh Ай бұрын
@@acg452 if you ICBM is a thing than one doesn't need a warship. a shorter range weapons from ship cant target locations or detect jets in the radar shadow regions of Himalayan ranges specially from the sea level. also put America in a very close proximity to nuclear armed countries, and USA cant even deal with N korea now
@acg452
@acg452 Ай бұрын
@@Manish_Kumar_Singh ICBM. Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile. I assure you they exist, as a simple google search will reveal. While on-board radar and other sensor systems can be limited, they typically work side-by-side with satellites and air support. While it is true that warships play a diminished role in modern battles, carriers being able to deploy fighter jets and all that, they still play a support, defense, and scouting role. Efficiency saves money. Redundancy saves lives. As for North Korea, I don't know. I'd hardly consider myself an expert in international politics. If it came down to an actual war, I don't believe they'd win, but they do have some nuclear capability, so its being handled carefully.

@@acg452 I know ICBMS are a thing but they can't be, don't need to be fired from warships, india has some some too (but pretty old ones) As far as india pakistan fight is concerned, bringin a warship will not deter anybody or prevent anything. Since both have nuclear deterrence. Kashmir is at least 1500 km from the sea coast, i don't know or find and warship based weapon with that range.

There are some times when the show missed stuff. A President would never have to state that ' 1500 ' is 3pm. It is trivial to translate that in your head, it made him look overly naive that he had to say it out loud.

Idk, Bartlet was a state rep., congressman, and governor, but he was never in the military and had very little experience with military operations at this point in his presidency, I don't think it's unreasonable for him to say it out loud just to make sure he's got it right

And the five minute clipping of the channel uploader strikes again. Either compile the relevant scenes and make these solid videos or stop uploading them because, right now, it's looking like you don't really care.

@anenglishmaninsandiego

@@jbuster9 Pretty much. All other channels that have uploaded TWW clips have recognised that the structure of the episodes are back-and-fro from A story to B, contrasting from each - they've trimmed to focus on the storyline under the title, that's worked. Here, thery're setting an 'in' point somewhere on their edit timeline, scrolling to around five mins and then trimming regardless. It's very careless.

@@SN-sz7kw I have, several times over. Which means I can recognise when somebody cares about the clips that the official channel is uploading or just lazily clippingfive minutes from files on a harddrive. These clips are in 4k, they are an amazing opportunity to reintroduce these characters and storylines to a new audience that may not be familiar with The West Wing. That opportunity shouldn't be sqandered.

i know this is a fictional series that ended many years ago, but here’s a thought: maybe usa should mind its own business. over many decades, the heads of u.s. govt (and their ancestors in britain) have meddled in areas of the world that don’t concern them, and in many cases have made the situation far worse!
