I'm pretty sure the only reason Kaiba was able to summon Obelisk is because Obelisk was sitting around in the Afterlife reminiscing about all the great times he had with Kaiba during Battle City, so when he heard Kaiba's determination to win in an impossible situation, he thought to himself: "Alright, just this once for my old buddy."

Also for season 2 kaiba builds that school and declares that Obelisk is the best house even though the plot of season 1 says that Winged Dragon of Ra is the best card its even implied that Sleifer the Sky Dragon is better than Obelisk. Who used Obelisk primarily in season 1? Seto Kaiba thats like if vegeta during the buu saga builds a training dojo and teaches everyone that the galick gun is stronger than the kamehameha and that the kamehameha was ripped from the galick gun.

He gave Kaiba Corp to Mokuba expecting that he wouldn’t return from his trip to the afterlife. He basically killed himself with extra steps. He didn’t need to spend all that money on a one way teleportation machine to the afterlife.

The amount of times I’ve read that line playing the yugioh mobile card game (that’s pretty much like playing the main game anyways) is innumerable. This is partly due to me always using Kaiba because his skills are superior, especially for dragon decks.

I was hoping the casual flex where he’s chasing after some dude and he and his brother stop at a random car sales lot. Kaiba tells his brother to pick his favorite, and he does. Then they just hop in that car like it’s already theirs, and the sales guy comes out like “hey you have to pay for that!” Kaiba just scribbles on a check and gives it to the guy and drives away with his brother. Sales guy freaks out when he sees the check he just got. 😂 Kaiba don’t give two shits about $, he wants to do what he wants to do! And he loves his brother which is cool.

Kaiba is the epitome of flex. DSOD was basically Kaiba flexing: the movie. You can't get any better than building a space elevator just to assemble a puzzle, building a machine to travel to the afterlife for vacation and falling into a stadium with explosions around you saying you'd fire god if he was working for you because he did a lousy job. That's why we love Kaiba

Fun fact, the “perfectly qualft hair” was a dub line. Same with the waterbottle. The japanese dubbing went a different take. Like a good entirety of the english dubbed lines for Kaiba got changed. Thats how much of a Flex God Kaiba is

4Kids actually made a fate worse than death. Least when you die, you may be able to reincarnate or something. Shadow Realm means your soul is stuck in eternal hell forever, and unless you have connections to the Main Character, you're probably doomed for eternity

You've done the God of YuGiOh, Kaiba. Now is the time to do, Vector from Zexal, the Troll. Alternatively, you could do Shingetsu from the same series. His sacrifice and relationship to the protag was simply a tearjerker. Purest and goodest boy. Or the Female Lead from the sevent series, Sevens, Kirishima Romin, cause she is going to be the secondcoming of Vector by the end, I swear.( she isn't yet, but I imagine she shall)

That first scene is my all time favorite Kaiba scene. Which is why I want to add, the commenter was right. Kaiba did tribute 3 monsters to summon Obelisk (look back at footage and you’ll see exactly 3 blue eyes glow). (What’s great about this movie is it’s accuracy to the real game.) Although in a dimension duel, you don’t normally tribute monsters for higher level monsters, the gods cards specially state they require 3 tributes, which is an effect of the card and not a game mechanic changed by the rules of a dimension duel.
