She was a great friend to Naruto, not the gf he wanted but the friend he needed .

Yeah like how even in recent Content they made a certain something (No Spoilers) look like it caught her offguard when it never did and she never had to be saved and the end result of the thing attacking it's supposed ally was going to be the end result anyways that caught more than her offguard but the studio just be hating. @@HinoishiTK It's like how the Hiruzen scene is filler with him taking care of Naruto being told to Kushina and how his character is like ruined. They make scenes of Hiruzen sort of like inconsistent or at least in relation to Naruto made in such weird ways where either Danzo gets his way or you can interpret his actions as kindness or mean like with the fishing scene. Meanwhile Naruto in the Boruto Manga thinks that he could have been Confined and maybe used as a Weapon if not for Hiruzen. He uses that as like an argument for keeping Kawaki.

@@HinoishiTK Then it's like weird like with Mugino in the Anime where he offered the leaf as a place but he never truly offered him a home in there but even if he would have lived to that could maybe just show Hiruzen was done at that time and changed. Boruto's Anime canon is weird because I know the ChoCho episodes likely had some Kishimoto involvement but I don't know how involved they are in some other things. What I do seem to see is that there is some like missions that reflect the past or other fillers of Naruto and then there are some things like the Kirigakure Arc which might have been able to be made from Boruto's statement of having gone to a field trip to Kiri and other statements that could have had the first arc where Sumire was mentioned with Nue but I don't know what was first or how they planned it and how Sumire struggled in the Academy Days but was the Class-Rep. It almost seems like something is said in the Manga and the Anime is able to extend it into arcs.

i've been hearing a lot how shes different in the manga its sad they changed that in the anime i look forward to reading the manga more now knowing this! You're totally right if we can forgive obito then there's no reason why we cant forgive sakura considering how obito was a straight up mass murder in comparison. Sakura's proportions still exist in the anime at times. Also everyone ignores Ino treating her teammates badly in the early series yet they attack Sakura for hitting Naruto a few times. Nami gets One Piece immunity where the Naruto series always had higher hurdles in comparison. Being from an unimportant clan (The only of the 9 Rookies to have this problem) really hurts Sakura & she doesn't get 1 quarter of the credit she deserves as a result. I primarily watched the anime & still respect Sakura.

​@@WaterKirby1994 there are clear differences between nami hitting luffy and sakura hitting naruto. both are gags but in nami's case, hitting luffy is just a part of the gag, the situation is funny to begin with and nami hitting luffy makes it funnier. in sakura's case, there's no funny situation, sakura hitting naruto is the gag itself. to put it simply, one piece makes the gag funny while naruto doesn't. the other difference is that luffy gets hit when he does something dangerous or makes trouble. he always "deserves" to get hit. most of the time naruto gets hit for no other reason than sakura feeling like it.

To be honest even i myself dont like sakura just because of how she is as a person so my main point was to put some more respect on her name as a shinobi. Still though I appreciate the feedback, what main points do you think should have been included?

@@7snowdog you guys just don't understand that being useful/important in real life and being useful/important in fiction are 2 separate things. what defines something/someone important in fiction is the staging and consequences in the story/plot. the staging does not show us sakura leading the medic team, we don't know how she did it, who she healed or what she healed. the importance given to sakura by the staging and the story is close to 0. character's actions by themselves are not as important as what actions or shown and how. that's why a character doing something insignificant can be more important than another character saving the world.

true true whenever naruto was around it was like sakura's combat abilities just took a masive hit and it was all on naruto to fight. That would have actually been super cool I get that tsunade didn't really have that stylised of a fighting style and just would use great chakra control to enhance her strength but it would have been great to have sakura have something unique taught to her from elsewhere of come up with something herself. At least Naruto had the clones and kurama to seperate him from jiraiya and sasuke's lightning style as well as the sharingan, inferno style, fighting with a katana were all a unique mix.

Sakura has water release AND earth release and the fact Kishimoto does nothing with it (like her affinity for genjutsu) is annoying. The amount of times she's ignored in the aspect of training or put on the sidelines between her fight with Sasori until the war is also annoying. Having Tsunade make up these rules for medics is a good in universe explanation but ultimately it's just an excuse for Kishimoto to keep Sakura out of fights that could really help her character. I hate the way he's treated her character more than I hate her character itself. Because Sakura has so much potential that's wasted purely and Kishimoto's "I find it difficult to write women" is not excusable. It just makes it clear he's not that great a writer. FMA is written by a woman and the main characters are male. It's literally no excuse.

This thread gets it, Kishimoto just utterly dropped the ball with her. Seeing how well she was handled during the kaze'kage retrieval arc and then immediately pushes her to the sidelines and completely under performs til the War arc. That situation with her with Karui and Omoi was blatant character assassination and bad writing on Kishimoto's part (if it was a anime only moment, Studio Pierrot always had an agenda against Sakura ), couldn't let the newly interduce cloud ninja get dogged so they make Sakura take the fall. Shippudden is filled with moments like that.

I like strong female characters and I always took it to offence how the mainstream fanbase just shat on Sakura whenever they could. It's nice to see that I'm not the only crazy one.

But if people don't complain about Karin as much, it's likely because Karin appears later in the series and doesn't get as much attention unlike Sakura. But they're basically the same in their attraction to Sasuke. Although Karin tends to act like a tsundere about it when she's around other people.

Sakura was annoying too with her simping over Sasuke when she was a child but it never was THAT excessive (plus, she was a child back then, she matured later, unlike Karin). Plus in the novels they have more of an intimate relationship like in "Sasuke story" (the one that got animated into boruto) Sasuke literally give Sakura a ring because he was jealous of the other inmates hitting on her.also in Sakura hiden, The village was in trouble but Sasuke didn't come back until he was told that Sakura was kidnapped, and in one of the novels/manga I can't remember which one Sasuke refers to Sakura as "the spring light in his darkness" so basically what I'm trying to say is that there are a lot of sasusaku scenes in the novels and mangas that didn't make it to the anime, also the only reason he tried to kill HER and Naruto was because he thought that his bonds with them were holding him back from reaching his goals so he had to sever them.and also Sasuke tried to kill a lot of people but he only verbally apologize to her.There's a lot I didn't mention here but I think you get it

I'd like to add my two cents to the hair scene, if that's okay (i'm a girl too, i guess we understand her more ;) ). It was believed Sasuke liked girls with long hair - in my eyes it was an indication Sakura let go of her childhood crush and sacrificed what she thought would bring her closer to him, instead from now on she decided to take matters in her own hand and focused on her growth. Not to mention a kunai attack would be countered while cutting hair was an unpredictable way of getting free, so she went for element of surprise.

Another thing is that while Kishimoto may have planned for the end of the series pairings by the Pain arc at least that doesn't mean the writing had characters paired together as a Series like Naruto under the Jump that usually happens when things end. All the way up to even the Last Naruto seemed to have a chance with Sakura and she with him if she chased hard enough or both chased each other. Sakura's kindness kinda is what makes her react to the Sai situation like that and likely also what has her try to push Naruto toward Hinata in the last and more. As you pointed out lots of the hits are filler because the Anime doesn't understand slapstick and characters and how to use it. People forget that Naruto was a brat and not a good character at the start like I don't think we are meant to defend the vandalizing the Hokage's faces Naruto and such but people still go out of their way to defend him but then don't have slack for any other character because Naruto fans just on Naruto too much. Another thing is Naruto's Naive nature feels like it can be used and as I see people break down Shikamaru and some of his actions as the Hokage's Aide or just how Shikamaru acts It kinda becomes obvious how easy it would be for one of Naruto's friends to sort of use his idiotic nature to their advantage while never calling it out so it never changes.

yeah that plot by naruto to feel sakura's love and attention was messed up and you're right while i consider that act from him more sad than malicious it doesnt change that is still messed up. it was nice of her to visit lee everyday as you mentioned even though he did save her life i understand she showed how grateful and concerned she was towards him more than most characters would especially in part 1. I understand sai definitely created the idea for the confession but sakura should still know better imo with how long they have known each other. Still i understand it was a very tense and stressful situation for her with a lot of responsibility so she was only doing what she thought was right. I think her focus and concern on her goal with sasuke like always clouded her judgement and she failed to see how doing this would be disrespectful to naruto but also in the grand scheme of things she wanted to relieve naruto of the pressure with sasuke and so she did the confession with good intentions. It wasnt just something to get naruto off her back it was mainly for naruto's sake even though what she did was still wrong there was no way of getting naruto to stop chasing her regardless so she made a desperate effort which is understandable. about the mistreatment from sakura to naruto being something mainly in the anime, i've been seeing this a lot in the comments so im interested to read the manga also that would change things quite a bit if those are filler since some things are hard to tell with what is filler and not. I didn't understand the concept of filler when i first watched naruto since it was my first anime and i'd watch shippuden weekly as it came out so my knowledge and what was filler and not probably isnt as good as some people. I remember the scene where she was gonna raise her hand to not let narutos dream die now you mention it, it annoys me i didnt bring that up in the vid but thanks for reminding me :) its nice to see people taking sakura's defense for a change and i'll make sure to be open minded and keep a look out for the other things you mentioned when i eventually read it or rewatch it so thanks again for the comment. I wouldn't call her a terrible person i'd say shes pretty nice with everyone but i realise i didnt talk about that much in the video other than a bit about her family. My biggest issues with sakura is when it comes to her treatment towards naruto when sasuke is involved, a few moments in shippuden I felt very dissapointed in her thoughts or actions like the confession scene and when she was wondering if she would chose to save sasuke or naruto if it came down to a save one or the other situation. This was also around when sasuke had joined the Akatsuki if I'm not mistaken but this could have been a filler scene who knows so really looking forward to reading the manga.

While i disagree with the point about naruto i personally always liked him from the beginning i see your point, espescially pre genin. Which is meant to foreshadow to later when they are both in the valley of the end and she literally just does that. Where as the Anime studio hates her so they try to make this vague thing by cutting off the end of what she is going to say and rephrasing it to make it bad. Anyways let me go get my chart of the Canon hits I know of Sakura: Chapter 3: Shoving Naruto out of the way. Beating up Naruto after the Kiss. Chapter 11: Sakura slaps Naruto after he throws the Shuriken(Or Kunai in the anime) at the Rabbit because this was actually his second time doing it and he seemed to be being reckless and wasting resources. Naruto even hugs the Rabbit in the manga as he's sorry once again he's trying to show off and not even realizing the consequences of his actions. Chapter 33: Naruto tries to put his hand on what looks like dumplings put on the graves of Haku and Zabuza but Sakura smacks his hand with like 2-3 fingers maybe 4 seem to land asking what he's doing and how that's bad Karma. 33/2: The hand over her head does seem to be up to interpretation but Naruto's hand is moved so I assume if it was meant to be gag like it's him stopping her in a funny tug of war like game. 34: I couldn't find the bop after the tension but the poster said it was extra anyways... 34/2: Punches Naruto for saying to Kono that she's his girlfriend... Going note that Sakura seems apologetic when Konohamaru bumps into Kankuro saying "I'm sorry, I was messing around..." 35: Sakura chokes Naruto to stop him from being an idiot it seems as Kankuro is holding Konohamaru... This is before Kankuro made any intention to possibly kill Kono clear in which she releases her grip. 40: Chokes Naruto for being too loud after his declaration that no one's going to beat him. 46: Smacks Naruto for saying he's going to take a Piss infront of a "Lady" like her also he just goes to do it like a bit away. 57: "Everyone came to save us" Ino: "Pfft Sakura's hiding her feelings again." So Sakura Punches Naruto another one with Blood and a wack expression on Naruto's face. It looks like a Gag Naruto does keep the damage but arguably that's not the case because everyone's drawn battle damaged likely to show how hard the exams are. Chapter 60: When he tries to open the Scroll before he convinces Sakura and Kabuto stops him. He had a good plan but it's just his plans illegal if he opens the scroll too early he fails. 79: Iron/Strong Fist vs Gentle Fist. Outer vs Inner. Hits Naruto over the head and gives him that comedic wound for like 2 pages because he said "Wow you're actually smart" to Lee and Sakura replied with "How rude can you get." 245: The Classic Punch everyone knows. Punching for attempting a more Pervy Jutsu because they thought Naruto had grown so much. Even Though NAruto seems to be bleeding he's completely fine like a page later after you see the Blood and Tsunade's the focus. 250: The Strangle Noogie thing for disrespecting the Kage (Tsunade). Meanwhile real things that aren't Gags like Karui are taken seriously and actual leave lasting damage on Naruto. At most this is like 15 but I even confused my self with the Chart and that's counting Chapter 3 and some other things as separate incidents and not just part of the same gag scene. Meanwhile in Shippuden it's only 2 times and maybe one more when she slams her head int while healing him and says she'll heal the extra damage which I always found funny because I think healers hurting the people they are healing as a joke is funny because they just made more work for themselves but Sakura I think was the first one I actually saw who brought up they would just heal the extra damage which let's be real most likely was just Gag damage. Karui's damage on Naruto actually lasts for Chapters while the damage done by these gags even in the anime most likely never even lasts an ep.

About kallen though its been a while since I've watched code geass did people actually not like her? I knew someone was gonna bring this up 😭 let’s be honest konohamaru defeating one of the pains is just insane like I wouldn’t have expected rock lee, neji, shikamaru or anyone other than maybe Kakashi and guy to defeat one of the pains. So to hate on Sakura to do that is unfair In my opinion she helped knowing her limits which I don’t blame her for. And I agree that Sakura wasn’t that useful near the end of the war but no one was except for a few people so again I don’t think it’s fair to compare her with anyone when she helped a lot during the beginning and middle until madara showed up. I don’t think it’s fair how we compare Sakura to the few most powerful characters in the show like she is still very impressive regardless of if we like her or not ( I personally don’t with how she treated naruto a lot of the time but that’s mainly part 1 naruto and she was still a kid)

@@HinoishiTK I know i do not hate her but still she has way to many flaws like in the war arc she should have been on the front lines healing people the thing that brings sakura down is her constant crush on sasuke for no reason than him being attractive and constantly thinking about it even when he tried to kill her like seriously doesn't she have self respect her deciding to kill sasuke was a great plan but her plan was a poisoned kunai she knocked her teammates and put them in danger

thats true she probably would have been better on the front lines but i guess thats both her fault and the higher ups that made her in charge of the medical team. Also I agree completely sakura's obsession didnt really make sense after a certain point like you mentioned with him trying to kill her and how she put others in danger she was always pretty selfish most of the time. My main issue is just a lot of her good things she did goes unnoticed and hated so was just trying to prove she isnt useless and did really well for herself in terms of a shinobi even though i dont like her as a person

I didn't like her at the beginning of the show but not as much as i didn't like Naruto himself - my goodness, he was so annoying! He almost made me quit watching. Even when i found Sakura annoying too at that point, i still felt sorry for her for having Naruto in her team. Thank goodness both Sakura and Naruto changed for the better and i liked both of them later.

i agree completely that is literally the exact same mindset i have on her, she deserves most the criticism as a person but her life as a shinobi is separate from that and she isn't "useless" at all. But yeah that confession scene really messed things up for her, just when you think maybe she isn't the same part 1 sakura anymore she does that.

That shit is Sai's fault for sure. Her Fake Confession is effectively the confliction between her feelings of kindness and the feeling of duty or just a heavy extension of her kindness because Naruto's friends were all going to kill Sasuke they planned on that. (They would have failed) But if Naruto knew about that then he would have been forced to fight his own Friends as we know he most likely definitely would do that (And win). But it would likely hurt his career and dream. We most likely know that through many bullshit endeavors Naruto would still make Kage but the characters in the series don't know that. She had to effectively find a way in order to get her out of a situation her emotional reaction put her in while also not letting Naruto become aware of what her true intentions were in the killing of Sasuke and deep down had she killed Sasuke Naruto is most likely the only person she would have liked.

I don't think it's Kakashi's fault. Sakura was only focused on impressing Sasuke and she was all about the boy, while both guys focused on training. I think she was the one to neglect her training. She only started getting better when she let go of that crush and decided to focus on her own growth - that's when she decided to become a medic (and that's also a reason why Tsunade even considered teaching her). Not to mention it was Kakashi who already told Tsunade about Sakura's potential.

That fake confession meant that sakura was trying to tell naruto he doesn't have to keep her promise of bringing sasuke back because it was acting like a burden on him and sakura realised that, which is why she thought she could solve everything by killing sasuke because he was not coming back but she could not because at that point she loved sasuke and it was not just a silly crush anymore.. She wanted to let go of him because he was causing suffering to both naruto and sakura.

I hear what you’re saying and I haven’t watched all of boruto so don’t know about after shippuden but I personally feel like the female characters in Naruto all had their moments in shippuden just like Lee, neji etc even if it wasn’t as grand as others like with shikamaru getting some more focus compared to the rest. At the end it was all eyes on Naruto and sasuke I get that the girls weren’t as interesting as the guys and lacked more depth in terms of character but in terms of combat and turning up in the war and missions I’d say they were pretty equal. People forget the importance of ino, temari, sakura, Hinata during the war they arguably all had just as much if not more impact than the male cast excluding the jonins. Naruto has needed hinata just as much as hinata has needed him so I don’t personally agree that all the girls had to hide behind the guys to fight for them
