The Craig incident aside, Friese was cross jumping all night to try stop the series contenders passing. In race one he also had two altercations with Shimoda, leaving Shimoda on the ground twice. Riders, fans and media have complained about Friese being a danger for years. If the AMA look at each incident in isolation, Friese will be allowed to continue to wreak havoc until his bonehead riding results in another rider being permanantly injured or worse.

I agree and with that, anyone infront gets a huge gap that puts the other riders at a disadvantage all cuz they know if they pass him aggressive he will retaliate and take himself and them out on the next corner

Friese needs to lose his pro license once and for all. He has caused more injuries to other riders than any other rider on the track. There is nothing wrong with racing hard. But t-boning the guy in the next corner as soon as he passes you, as Friese has done more than once this year, deserves far more attention than it has received by the AMA. There is a difference in riding a wide bike or being flat dangerous. Get him off the track! Set an example out of someone who absolutely deserves it.

Jesse, I’ve been saying that for the last three seasons. He’s such an idiot and is CONSTANTLY causing really bad crashes. I’ve said soooooooo many times that he’s going to kill someone one day. He could have caused Craig to break his neck if he would have went head first into that wall. I’ve also said lottttts of times that the AMA should yank his license. I can NOT stand that dips***!

@giant weiner barcia does need it too. Sport needs to be cleaned up. Some legitimately can't be controlled. But Bracia and Friese are both over the top. Anderson has been reckless too. But as far as riders being hurt because of an overly aggressive pass, Friese has still hurt more riders than Barcia has.

I understand when you're talking about his racing line. but Craig was ahead in the corner. Majority of the time when a person tries to block pass with his front wheel, it doesn't work. He had to have known Craig was there. If this was his first incident it might not have got such a huge reaction, but he's proven time and time again that he's a danger to anyone on the track. I appreciate hard racing but I don't wanna see anyone get hurt especially when crashes are inflicted from another rider. He should get suspended or have his pro license taken away for the safety of everyone.

Craig is tripling in. When you triple in....literally can not change your line. The line is set when you jump the last triple! When Vince jumped...HE WAS AHEAD. When he landed...Craig was ahead. So yes...Craig was ahead...but so what. What do you think Vince could have done? Go look at the broadcast replace from behind. Vince was NOT ever on an inside line. He was outside. He LANDED well to the RIGHT of centerline at the jump down face...but he was pointed a bit left...cutting the corner arc. This is a very fast line. He was on an outside line. It is just that Craig took a ballsy line...further outside of Vince. And because Craig landed 28' sooner, pinned...he passed Vince while he was in the air. Not sure how much you ride, but when you lands a SX triple, into a corner, in the sand...you do not have a lot of lattitude to change your line. The bike compresses and rebounds fast...and they goes light. Basically the direction you land...you are going to keep going that direction for about 20-30 FEET. This is exactly what happened. Before Vince even crosses the center ridge....he REAR TIRE IS OFF THE GROUND. He is along for the ride. Basically, the only way for Vince to change his line was to change his line up the last jump, WHEN HE WAS STILL AHEAD. It is a racing incident 100%

Stupid logic. They all get paid to place as high as possible. It’s his job to hold the highest position he possibly can. Not just give up his position because they guys behind him run faster lap times than him. Racing is more than fast lap times. If their so much faster than VF than they should have no issue just sweeping by him on the inside. His job is to score the most points each round, not get out of the way so you can be entertained with the three fastest guys.

@@TheXman174 You only get paid if you finish the race. You can't win if you're laying on the ground. Please name an incident where VF has actually taken someone out and he didn't go down as well. Or at least the person he took out didn't come back and put him on the ground. MX is a dangerous enough without people making stupid decisions like this. That is because it was a racing incident. When Vince set his line for the corner....he was ahead. This is a function of sand corners that are set up to jump into. Sand can slow you down so quick, and provide so much turning if you know how to ride, and you can jump into the corner. That means that your line for the corner is set when you triple in. When you land...you are already set. You line is set. There is nothing you can do. Craig passed Vince while Vince was IN THE AIR. In other words...Craig is so damned fast he effectively put himself in Vinces line...AFTER Vince had set his line and could not change it. When any rider who triples in lands, their bike compresses, rebounds and goes light for about 20-30 FEET. There is nothing you can do. This is what happened. Vince should be penalized for his cross jumping...but this...was a racing incident.

Craig knows what he’s dealing with when it comes to him. When you are seconds faster than everyone else…..perhaps trying to pass on the outside on the opening lap might not have been the best idea. As far as penalties go…..this is a fine line for the AMA. On one hand it’s almost like they are promoting some of this riding. If this would have been for 4th in an lcq, no one would be saying boo about it. But Craig’s the guy right now so I get that. If they start cracking down on riding this….it needs to be the same for everyone. But these are just my thoughts.

Friese didn’t even have the fast line through the rythym, fast line was 3 all the way the way through not double in. Not to mention Craig was half a bike in front when Friese hit him as you said. Not sure how you can say that Craig needs to be more careful in these situations. He already had the pass made… Not like Friese even tried to park him, he straight t-boned him out the stadium if those shutter doors were open. Suspend him for the season for reckless riding causing danger to others. If you watch the races closely you can see him cross jumping Shimoda and others in that same rhythm, because he was the only one not tripling in; to stop them passing him the same way CC did.

@@trakstr1170 I think you need glasses, and need to learn how to ride a dirt bike. Here is a vid.... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hJN5jciW08XVqp8.html Go to 0:18 early in the second. Vince is landing before his last jump. Craig is taking off for his 3+1. How is that an inside line for Vince? He is totally on the RIGHT side of the rhythm section...and Craig...he is like 6-12 INCHES from the TBLocks! Who is making dumb moves here? It is not Vince...it is Craig putting himself in a stupid spot. Go to 0:18 later in the second. Vince now taking off his last triple. He is ahead. Craig is in the air. Again....you can see how far RIGHT Vince is. 2/3 of the track is to his LEFT. He is on a right/outside line. He was not "inside" like you say. Open your eyes. Go to 0:19 and watch Craig land. He is pinned...and gets a brilliant RV like drive. Look at that deep rut he digs in the sand from the moment he lands. THIS is where he pulls ahead of Vince...who is in the air, and can not change anything. Go to 0:19 late in the second and stop the frame when Vince lands. He STILL is not LEFT. During his jump, he drifted about 1 foot to the left...but he is still on the outside line, but his angle in is cutting a bit of the arc off the corner. This is common in sand where you go straight and then pivot into a berm. Watch the and of 0:19 to 0:20 Do you know how a dirt bike rides?...Vince's bike compresses and rebounds...partly because he clipped, which was a mistake. This happens in the span of about 0.2 seconds...faster than anyone can react. Once the bike rebounds...Vince is just floating. He rear tire is actually IN THE AIR. He is along for the ride. He just goes straight for about 20's..and by the time he gets his tires down in the sand...he is hitting Craig. Basically...when you triple in...your line is determined by your jump direction from the last triple. When you triple in...you are going straight for 20-30' when you land. Vince did not cut in... He did not change from inside to outside (RC's comments on the broadcast were idiotic...he should know better...he is letting his known dislike for Vince impact his judgement). Vince just kept going in the exact same direction when he landed...which is all that physics allows you to do. The only way Vince could prevent a crash was by predicting the future, and changing his line off the last jump. At that point...he was ahead. Are you saying Vince should have changed his line on his last jump...at the point he was ahead...and his competitor had put himself on the OUTSIDE going into a corner? Is this a race? For another view...go to 0:42 and watch the slow mo from the rear. Watch Vince land. He is RIGHT of center. Look at the damned grooming of the track! The "mid ridge" is not in the middle of the track...it is 3/4 of the way to the RIGHT! That was the idiot track workers. Vince lands...his tire is all the way in his fender...but SX susp is stiff...and it rebounds fast. Within two bike lengths...Vinces tires are not even leaving trails in the sand...he is floating along for the ride for the next 20'+. 2 bike lengths at that speed is 0.25 seconds. So in 0.25 seconds...Vince is supposed to instantly recognize that Craig has passed him, decide to change his line, magically make the bike turn before it leaves the ground. Are you aware that 0.25s is a good reaction time? This does not even allow for recognition, evaluation, and decision making. To recognize evasive action is required, and actually put inputs into the bike...you need 0.50 to 0.60 seconds. There was no time. As soon as Vince and Craig took off from their last triple jumps...a crash was guaranteed....

Here's the deal to me, I was super concerned about "what if" CC had hit the deck wrong after being taken out by VF and re-broke his back and this time came up paralyzed? How would you live with yourself (VF) knowing your "racing incident" turned out to ruin a career/life? The sport is dangerous enough as is. Riding with the thought it is OK to take someone out plays to the bad boy image that would be better off in a boxing ring, not on a supercross track. Notice the great riders focused on winning, typically race hard but make passes "most" (not all) of the time without taking someone else down. Leave the wrecks to the bad boys in Nascar! Leave it out of SX and MX.

The problem I have with it at the highest level, he constantly is taking out himself with the victim/injuring rider which from a analytical stand point, the danger he imposes does not gain him any significant positions or points thus should be deemed reckless racing behavior and considered a danger to other riders. I feel this is new territory for AMA to penalize, but lining up Vince on the line behind of the other racers with a big disadvantage on the start I feel could be a creative way to dock a racer giving the other racers a piece of mind that the physical contact threat should be behind them for the first few laps at least.

I would like to make a comment here. I'm 59 years old and I use to race. Being away from the sport for many years I started watching and to catch up on Supercross a couple years ago. I have never seen anything like this passing in the corners and taking out the rider in front of you. I don't know the riders very well ( catching up) and I don't have a dog in this fight, but it seems to me everybody does this anymore. I'm not saying the rider was right or wrong just seems that all of these guys race like this. Not sure how you can point a finger at 1 guy and turn a blind eye to a guy that does the same thing. Maybe I'm wrong but I hope it doesn't come to somebody getting very seriously hurt. Can their not be two berms in some of these corners and the rider can pick if he wants to go inside or outside and if they were big berms they couldn't switch lines to take out somebody? Just my thoughts.
@CaseyHardman
@CaseyHardman 2 жыл бұрын
You’re right that block passing (aggressive and not) happens all the time. You also mentioned a corner having two berms. The problem here is the place where he took Craig out DID have two lines, with Friese on the inside and Craig on the outside, but instead of staying in his inside line, Friese chose to try to block Craig by going into his outside line, and thus causing the crash. You can have all the different lines and berms you want, but these problems are 100% rider-made decisions and will continue to happen if individuals aren’t punished accordingly. I’m all for making the sport more safe but unfortunately it seems the most effective way of doing so is by addressing the riders as opposed to the track. Just my opinion!

As soon as a I saw them side by side, I actually knew in my head Vince was going outside line. He was ahead, he was running track middle and not veering inside AT ALL. And the entrance to the sand on his lander was faster into the sand. How in all hell Craig didn't think Vince was going outside is beyond me. They had just reshaped both turn entrances and there was a mushroom of sand waiting on the inside and NOBODY wanted to take that inside first lap b/c until someone is forced to hit that inside hump, you don't know how deep the sand is. It looked like Vince was committed full throttle to staying on his same outside line and Craig just hit the sand so stupidly fast (watch him just shotput suddenly in front of Vince). When Craig's surge ahead happened, Vince's foot is already off the peg and in sand. He's a passenger and can't change lines at that point. Vince is a total head case, but that sandwas a toss up as to what would happen first lap after being re-worked if two guys go in side by side & we saw it play out. I'm not blaming Vince for it this time. But his reputation gives him ZERO leeway. So even if he were right...he'd be wrong. Flip the script and put Vince in Craig's position. EVERYONE would be yelling that Vince went in too fast and reckless on the outside and Craig had every reason to douse his wheels. 🙃

Should he get injured from a Friese take out and not finish the season losing out on winning the class it would be a huge black cloud over the season. Injuries do happen as well as incidents between riders. Two things are likely to happen in any race that Vince lines up for. The first being that he will get the holeshot or be right there with whomever does. The second thing which is even more likely than Vince getting the holeshot is that he will be involved in some sort of collision, take out/racing incident. It happens much more often than it doesn't. Race 2 came off the line and he tried to take Craig down in the 1st turn but Craig checked up a little. Once they hit the rhythm you could see in his riding he wasn't going to let anyone pass at all cost. Tony's Motto I believe is (if you can win, crash someone that can! I don't care if you don't even finish the race.just take our the fastest.) Lmao, seriously tho. He needs to go. He has no place in this or any other sport. Cause he can't play well with others.

As long as all riders in all classes are treated the same, there should be at least next race disqualification?

He’s been doing this FOREVER! Since his young days at MTF, back then if younger riders confronted him his older brother tried to beat them up! Truth be told and spoken!

You have one guy who has changed riders chances or positions on the podium every week and its not because he is faster then any of them, its because he is slower and a dirty rider. Every week there is a pack of riders that ends up on his tail while everyone infront gains seconds between. People keep saying it's his good D-fense but it's actually everyone knows he will take himself and anyone out

Not because he is faster? How the hell did he get in front of them?

@@woodysrockspyro6436 OK then I'll agree he is faster but only at the drop of the gate, one of the fastest on a 250. But go and watch any of the 3 races this week, or the race last week and watch the place ticker. You will see everyone infront gapping him and him slowing up who ever catches him that is afraid to pass. Several times there has been a pack of 3 or 4 on his tail

@@menace1tb yeah.. seems like he fades after a lap or two. He usually leads for more than a lap and even a few laps sometimes.. at that level it's saying something. He's no slouch. Best starter on the gate. Best blocker. So.. what's he to do... he's running 6 or 7th in points right now. Can't just kick him out... he's better than half the field.

6 month probation for Friese. If he takes someone out during that time he misses a race. If he does it again the AMA takes away he highest points finish and he's now on a year probation. If he messes up a 3rd time, he's done for the season and he has to re-earn his pro AMA license.

Vince Friese has been doing this for YEARS. I'd say the AMA needs to exclude him from the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the Triple Crown and hit him where it COUNTS - somewhere in the neighborhood of a $34,000 fine, $2000 for each of the 17 races of the 2022 SuperCross season (as we ALL know he IS gonna do this again...and again!)

I'm glad Friese blew the doors off Craig. They are both 450 riders who are too slow to compete in their class so they ride a 250!!!!! Save everyone the trouble and give that 2 spots in the main to younger riders who have their whole career ahead of them

In my opinion stiff like this is what makes me love super cross… all other sports have cracked down so much in the name of keeping people healthy and safe. Sports like these are dangerous and the riders know this. There is nothing stopping CC from coming at friese tonight and getting revenge. Keep it the way it is and the riders duke it out.

One race suspension for hits from behind or high-speed collisions. Two races if it happens again. The third time is four races. Season for any infractions after that.
