Site clean up, truck clean up (on site), ordering the parts or reorder truck stock, writing the work order, totaling the bill should be done before you leave the job site. It is easy to get into the “I must get to the next job attitude” but it is just pulling dollars out of your bank account with unbilled parts and labor that you miss. Are you billing your consumables (break clean, nuts/bolts, air fittings (if you have them in bulk)? Do you bill travel to/from your office on every job? Do you charge a computer connection fee to pay for annual subscriptions? If you carry parts, track their sale, if you don’t not turn them 4 times a year, do not stock them. I would suggest adding boxes and being able to sit in the passenger side of your truck but I am just an old mechanic who has seen too many coworkers hurt on the job. You know he didn’t put any oil in that engine 😂. My buddy runs the loves here in my town so they call me when it’s a job they aren’t allowed to do or don’t have the stuff to do. And they let me work in their parking lot!
