Just a cute and not too tricky Urban Outfitters rip off!
Imagine a mattress that you can build with simple materials and tools, so it's affordable. The DIY floor matress might not be as comfortable or durable but for those who don't have access to these types of options this could work great!
The floor mattress is a great way to save money and make your own custom-fit bed. You can use it as an extra seats, play area or even create the perfect nightstands by tucking away those pesky cords!
We have seen this project done all over social media with people who love fashioning their home decor in unique ways - check out some ideas below:

Please don't feel like you have to knock yourself down or be like, "I know it's not perfect BUT..." You made something pretty damn cool. Honestly, if I had the money, I would probably buy the UO one out of lack of patience but you persevered and finished it. It turned out really well. You're talented.

My 17yr old wnats this for her room, and she saw it at urban outfitters lmao i just sent her the video. I'll buy all the material she needs but i refuse to spend that $300.

Surprise, the materials are almost $300 lol I’m making my own bench cushion and foam is ridiculously expensive
@samaraisnt
@samaraisnt 3 жыл бұрын
@@picklepirate i found my foam for $10. I've never seen it more than $30 on the expensive side for the full size and extremely thick. Poly fill is like 20$~ for pounds and pounds of it (it's very light so that's a lot). I don't know in what world foam could ever cost $300 but there's cheaper alternatives...maybe you're exaggerating and mean $100...or maybe you're her 17 year old?!! lol

Making sure you might like a craft before investing in lots of equipment is so wise. In case you haven't already - great, even excellent, used sewing machines can be found at thrift/charity shops. Old machines are Sturdy & built to last - if something does go wonky, they tend to be easy to fix oneself (stick to big brand names so you can still find parts) & were made when people were expected to be able to use the machines for a wide array of projects - from fine, delicate fabrics to denims & leathers. In the US & UK, I've found great, working machines that just need a clean & bit of oil for $20-50. It's kind of wild.

How much bean bag stuffing was needed? I’m trying to decide wether or not I should get the twin pack or just 1 regular pack of 100L. I also loved your material choice!! Super cute.

You can rent time in a sewing machine class on machines or borrow one from a friend. You would be surprised how many people you know who own a sewing machine.
