Hey, clever idea. I just used some .22 pellets for single weights in paracord for my ultralight survival kits. Didn't have any split weights so rather than spending a couple bucks and a trip to the store, I just made two using your method. Perfect! Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

Awesome 😎. I've made my own slinky weights from your previous video & it worked out great. I found it easier to use a bb loader & bore out the point to accommodate the bigger BB's "ball bearings" or round weights. Great video. 🎣😎🎣😎🎣😎🎣

Drifting for steelhead in the PNW many people use a swivel snap and surgical tubing to hold pencil lead weight. Take a snap swivel and using the snap end, pierce the tubing at a place that's just a little shorter than the inside of the snap. Close the snap, push the lead into the tubing. Thread your line through the swivel, now go fishin!

Nice job! Harbor Freight sells an orange funnel set that has a very small funnel that might be perfect for getting those pellets in the paracord. You might have to cut the end if it's too small for the pellets, buy I think it would work well and speed up the process.

You can also make similar weights using 1/8 oz egg sinkers. I'm experimenting by sliding them onto a piece of aluminum electric fencing wire. They come 12 to a pack for $1.18 at Walmart. I did put heat shrink over them but I don't know if covering them is necessary and it doubles the price.

So I think the one material was a braid wire management. The kind of stuff you see keeping a ton of wires together in cars and trucks or inside computers. You got me thinking about it. You could do the same thing with heat strunk tube. Anyway love the video. Keep them comin'.

For a clean cut heat the wire cutter until it cuts and melts the paracord. You can space the split shot in your slinky at any spacing you want by pre crimping them onto fishing line and pulling that through the outer sheath, thinner longer more flexible. Thinking of bungy tube ? less likely to get caught up.

help me out brother, my catfishing spot is near the dam (above) from a fishing pear. I have to cast real far to get past the rocky flat to the drop off. I can reach it with braid but get cut off. I cant reach it with mono, I spooled braid and attached twenty feet of mono and can reach it this way. can you offer a rig suggestion for this situation. I get better casts with a 3 or 4 oz sinker on the very end but my hook gets wrapped in my line. If I put my sinker above the swivel and leader I cant get the distance needed AND my rig gets twisted and the sinker no long slides. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

4,388,091 views I'll be honest I've never tried a slinky weight from shore but it's the same concept so it should work as long as you have the float holding your hook up off the bottom . That's the main thing . You may know what I'm talking about if you dont look up Santee rig
@thomassmestead64244 жыл бұрын
Up here in the PNW, many anglers use these for drift fishing for salmon and steelhead in rivers and creeks, especially if bottoms are Rocky or woody, because they are less apt to hand up as other weights do. We rig them with 3-way,(crossline)swivels. Business end tied to one swivel loop. Main line tied to other free loop. So, to answer your question, yes, if tied like this. In fact, up here, they are rarely used for trolling.

@FishinNStuff3 жыл бұрын
The solid cord lead actually makes a lot of weights depending on the size . But they are very close in cost . But times money too and the solid core wins hands down in speed
@LoLoo-wg3wj3 жыл бұрын
@@FishinNStuff solid cord? you mean putting in pencil lead one piece into the paracord? rather then bb's....wouldn't that defeat the "slinky" effect....sorry if i misunderstood...
