I was struggling with inconsistent play in Street Fighter 6 so I've decided to start simple and start drilling basic reactions again and I kind of did just that until I hit Master with Marisa. This video is also a tutorial and beginner / tips guide on some features of training mode such that you can also create drills and test other situations!
Next Video of Series where I build a basic Gameplan: • Learning to be Proacti...

Apologies for the doo doo mic/voice audio quality. Turns out a shotgun mic is kind of really bad for small rooms with no treatment so i had to process it way too much to make it even audlble. Also some things to note: There are similar drills you can enable in "Simple Training Settings" and they work, but i prefer this method as it gives me a more controlled environment to increase/decrease difficulty as needed Also what spurred this on was lack of win consistency around diamond rank and got that consistency from doing these drills...at least until master. Like with how you can reach master in this game with an inconsistent winrate if you just play enough, I think it's especially important to be cognizant of your winrate and try new/different things until you achieve consistency at your current level and then re-evaluate when winrate shows inconsistency again~

Great video! The SF6 training mode finally got me more interested in labbing characters since it makes it all so easy. That was a great breakdown of how to get some great use out of it...and, even better, with my favorite character

I recently got to master after 600 hours spread across practice, battle hub and some ranked with a few weeks break in between , I’ve been playing fighting games super casually for like 25 years (knew nothing about frames, footsies, throw tech etc)so had basic fundamentals and general game sense starting sf6. I practiced deejays best combos for hours, did every characters combo trials a few times, took every character to ranked and played battle hub looking for masters/ diamonds to fight, I got far but was too aggressive and had bad meter management, but I recently took advice to conserve meter, block more and be patient, practiced a bit went to ranked at diamond 4 and went on a 13 or so win streak, lost a couple then went on a 9 win streak to master. The difference from that advice was crucial, I’d still be D4 had I not taken that advice

This is actually a pretty good video for beginners. Keep the grind up though and your mmr will come back up. Master is unforgiving and everyone in there knows how to deal with something gimmicks and “lower level play”. I speak personally as a JP player lol. I got in with minimal tech and strategies and quickly learned I’d have to up my game. I can now hold my mmr at 1500 but man is it tough

Find your characters "winbox" moves to use in neutral, have a combo down that can be used anywhere on screen, and patience. Im drastically unqualified to give this advice but it worked out for me so far

thank you! if you are talking about how sometimes the characters turn blue or red when they hit someone, it's the "Cancel Timing Display" setting under "Screen Display Settings" in the training mode. During the period the character turns red, it means the normal hit can be canceled in to a special move and if the character turn blue, same thing but also it can be canceled into a super art

I see so many really good players doing a lot of practice and learning frames and spacing in practice mode, but I feel I’ve done the exact same thing only it was through playing a huge amount of matches in real time and losing a lot till I got better. Never really used practice. Anyone else?

@@pills_dk Personally I dont want to have to try hard to just have fun playing a video game. The ranking is so broken in SF6 that I intentionally try to get myself kicked back out of platinum after a few matches. Reason being on release I started playing with characters I liked first, did placements, placed iron and silver etc and climbed. After a while as I had got to late plat I was doing placements with others, did marissa, never played her before won 7/3 to get placed in diamond where all the try hards start. The game automatically assumes you will be great with every character if you are good with 1. I even intentionally lost 10 matches with a character I will never play (chun li) Ranked in high plat! So while my preferred characters are in like iron and gold, all the characters I dont know how to play are in diamond or plat WTF!!! I cant even have a casual rank session with characters I dont know how to play without getting them hardstuck in ranks I am not ready for. So yeah I try to just stay in gold-plat. Seems as soon as you get a character to masters, pretty much every character is gonna be placed in diamond where all the try hards are. Best to stay in at least gold for fun matches.

I really dislike how the ranks in sf6 work at the moment. Diamond means nothing, master is just learning two hit confirms per char. Makes the whole game feel meaningless compared to a game like tekken or league where even getting gold/plat takes a lot of effort.
