Exactly what I would expect to see based on plant size. Bigger plants require more water.

Mr.patrick what's your professional opinion till or no till? Next time are you going to till? Absolutely fascinating.
@PatrickShiversАй бұрын
@@darrellbridwell588 no-till opportunities don’t always exist in red clay. There was about a 36 hour window when it was doable. Everything worked out perfect. If I had more acres to do they wouldn’t have been in the window of opportunity.

Be interesting to see how the yields differ from tillage to no till.
@PatrickShiversАй бұрын
@@jamiecollins1220 I have a full length video from a few weeks ago showing and explaining the differences between the two. In that video the difference was way more pronounced

In my area, tillage will cause the loss of about 1/2" of moisture EACH pass. 2 passes need an inch of rain to replace the lost soil moisture. Looking good, Patrick! At least the sorghum is... 😂😂😂

This was pre-plant tillage v. no till. All planted at the same time. The tilled area has been dramatically out growing the no-till, but now the bigger plants need more moisture to keep from wilting
@MorganOtt-ne1qjАй бұрын
@@PatrickShivers It's a trade off. Tillage grows bigger and faster, but NoTil grows plants that have to reach deeper for moisture at the start, but can stay longer without rain. I'm a big believer in NoTil, even if the yield isn't as good, the expenses are lower, so the $net per acre is usually even or above. But I'm not going to push your pencil on the cost/ return page. Keep doing what you do, my friend, and I will keep watching! 👍👍👍

@@TonyWebb-vv5po I’m trying to market it now as silage or grain. No contract on either yet.
