For example, when her son visited her tower and seek him out, she found out she had to make an appointment to see him. She did not react negatively or go off the rails, just kept the status quo for her son's sake.

Given that she created them using a computer program and then was apparently in some limbo between life and death for two centuries, but made sure to reach out to them as soon as she could after being informed of where they were, I would not call her 'neglectful'.

I would say the dwarf isn't a tsundere but rather is aware of the two of them interacting looks like to others. It basically looks like he is robbing the cradle. Got himself a cute, barely legal, elf gf as someone who looks to be capable of being her grandpa. Super pervert material. Don't matter she is his adoptive son, it looks very suspect to anyone not in the know. Dwarf son, unlike her elf son and daughter, is aware of what others may think. Small wonder her elf children are like that though, she herself is kinda oblivious.

Actually they where all adults when she left. It's just been about 200 years since they last saw her. As for Skargo, well he just has a ridiculous Odepius complex.

If I remember correctly in this anime world elves and dwarves can live for about for 500 years and she “disappeared” for 200. She is a High Elf so she will outlive her kids. I guess that would be equivalent of a parent leaving their child at the age of 20 and then reappearing when said child is about 80 years old all while the parent hasn’t aged a day. She left them when they were about 20 years old each. Which i guess for an elf is basically the equivalent of a child. (This calculation is made with the assumption that the average human life span is 100 years)

I saw previews for a good anime that deals specifically with that issue. The MC is a cold/seemingly uncaring elven sorceress who, alongside three other heroes, embarked on an arduous quest to slay an evil king and stop a terrible army from enacting their invasion on the rest of the world. Their mission ultimately successful, they're celebrated as legends by all the kingdoms. Eventually, the heroes part ways and their legends disappear with them. But, that's the prologue, not the story. The story really starts around a century later, when one of the heroes summons his three allies together once more. Only, after a few days reunion, said hero dies of old age. The elf, upon seeing her "friend" within his casket, breaks out in tears, with the realization that she took their time together for granted. She understood beforehand that, as an elf, she would outlive them all; so she chose to stay distant. Her thinking was that it would be far too painful to become closely acquainted, only to lose them in a few decades. But her emotional outburst at the funeral gave her pause. She now regrets the time not spent living and enjoying their lives; although she wants to remember her lost comrade, she only remembers their journey as heroes. It wasn't enough time for her. The entire premise of the story is this girl retracing her friends' steps, learning about each of them and their lives before it's too late.

Yeah, it's a little sad but in a way the author is writing the character a little too accurately. She is like 17, Japanese, and has zero memories of them. Like she is way more bonded to the village she spawned in than her children. It's probably not going to get much better, the book doesn't have much dialogue overall and the anime is already stretching the few interactions she does have with her kids.
