I love how most SIX animatics never show Henry’s face and mostly focus on the queens, since he’s usually portrayed as a powerful, evil entity that the queens acknowledge but don’t like to remember. However this person just decided to be wild and include him anyway for comedic purposes and to show Catherine’s control and dignity as queen, since she easily makes him flustered and pushes him around with no worries. We respect.

That’s actually really true! Many people who do these animatics can draw Henry, but they decide to include the dumb portraits of the real life version instead in most cases or they barely include him (probably for the reasons you listed). I like that artistic take, but I also ADORE this one. I think it’s also because Catherine had no fear of execution due to her royal heritage and ties with Spain and Austria (if Henry dared to execute her he’d be in war. Understand that the people of that time thought that Catherine had an even greater claim to the throne than Henry himself, so even the people of England would rise up against him) so that’s also why she has absolutely no fears of shoving him around as opposed to the other queens. I do understand why Six doesn’t show Henry in the actual show since it’s supposed to focus and empower the queens, and that leaks into the animatics too, but it truly is refreshing to see him featured so much in this animatic, as I didn’t expect it

I just wanna see an animation where henry is in god's court and his wives are the witnesses called and they berate him through song in front of god. I can imagine god just sitting there listening calmly while henry looks up going 'help me god' and judge god looks at him like 'don't drag me into this, you dug the hole'

Catherine of aragon basically did that in real. Life. Her very public speech passionate forced him to appeal the dissolution of his marriage to Rome. She very effective invoked God. Granted we know he eventually said screw the pope I'll start my own church but still...

The only thing I don't like about the animation (but six the musical in general really) is how much Anne is the "seductress" who hated Catherine and wanted her out, when in reality she had tons of respect for her. She is treated as the reason Henry and Her divorced, but he was trying to divorce Aragon 4 years before even meeting Anne. And didn't even want to marry him, she went to france to escape him. But everything else is great!

The thing to remember about these songs is that they are sung from the perspective of each wife and is biased in their favor. So to Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn did seem like a seductress that was trying to take her husband from her. She was fighting to keep her marriage in tact and for the legitimacy of her daughter, she wouldn’t care if Anne Boleyn respected her because to her it looked like Anne was trying to take it all away from her. Henry may have been looking at options to get out of his marriage to Catherine before he met Anne, but him meeting Anne was when he actually started to take action towards it so I wouldn’t blame Catherine if it looked like him meeting Anne and falling for her was to blame for Henry really wanting their marriage annulled.

2:48 I love how this was based on a real life painting when king Henry was negotiating with the pope about divorcing Kathrine, she was down on her knees holing Henry's hand the pope was sitting and listening and there were multiple witnessing it.

I LOVE how you did the period costume. It's accurate (her hair is actually covered!) but a really appealing animated design. And you even gave her the gabled hood while Anne gets the French hood (this is important as it was emblematic of Catherine's traditionalism and modesty and Anne's glamour and fashion. Anne described her as having a 'roof on her head.' Jane Seymour admired and modeled herself after Catherine, so she wore the hood.) And Henry is hilarious!

I think this is the first animatic I've seen that's actually drawn Henry's face throughout the video and damn do you do him justice! Really, you do _everyone_ justice. Some of these panels look like they could be Sunday newspaper comic panels and I love that so much. I think my favorite part is near the end when Henry comes in shaking his dump truck like they want him there.

I can't stop gushing about how brilliantly Anne can be (and IS) used for Story telling in this. It's already so smart that the Six Fandom agreed on creating each Queens animatics in her signature color so now the simple usage of the color green is an picture-book perfect visual shortcut to include the parts of Anne's story that overlapped with Aragons. Sorry for pointing out the obvious but I love stuff like this!

I think this is my favorite animation tbh. It's not the actual actresses but rather the actual historic interpretation of the women they play, it brought Henry in for pure comedic purposes, and the art is beautiful! It's not jarring, it's fluid. I really enjoy this one.

Fun fact, when Catherine of Aragon was with Henry he was very handsome. When the years went by and he decided to be a horrible person the more ugly he got. And I love how Anne Boleyn isn't in the background with the other queens, instead she is with Henry and mostly making fun of Aragon. Its quite funny. I love this so much!

Catherine is my favorite queen so I love that this animatic shows how she was in life. Steadfast, resilient and not here for Henry’s crap. I love that it didn’t show Anne one upping or embarrassing her and that all the other Queens where helping her and hyping her up. I love it!

I love how you gave Henry such a bad but funny personality. I loved when anne said I think I broke something, it really gives life to her character, not just a side chick that is just there. I really liked how you would change between historical and musical outfits depending on what was happening. I also really liked how you told a story instead of just animating the musical. I also love the character designs you chose. I would keep going, but if I did, I would be here for hours. Keep up the great work🙂

Honestly, this might as well be one of my favorite animatics, particularly because you put the queens to not be just back-up singers, but also supporters for Catherine of Aragon. I just rarely see that in animatics, and I love it. Please make more for the rest of SIX!

1:30 The passage they were talking about was cheating with your brother's wife while he is alive. Another passage, which if I can find I will post it here in an edit. Says something along the lines of, "If the husband dies with no children, the brother will take the widow as his wife and their children will be considered a product of her dead husband." (Following that logic, Mary would have been considered Arthur's daughter.) EDIT: Deuteronomy 25 1 But supposedly that didn't work in some branches of Catholicism/Christianity as it was "too Jewish" a practice. Also, Katherine claimed the marriage was never consummated and being 16 and Arthur 15, they may not have known how to. Even Anne (Anna) of Cleves didn't know what consummation was when she married Henry.

I'd love to see you animate all of the six's songs. The way you portrayed henry was the best. It showed both his flaws and his human side in a way while everyone is just using his picture which imo is pretty much not as moving or entertaining. I wanna see both sides. Their facial expressions, their movement, the emotion and feel. A moving henry can portray far more negativity than a portrait and adds more satisfaction to what comes to him at the end of it all.

This is probabyly my favorite No Way animatic I've come across! I love your style; the visuals are so creative & cartoonishly theatrical, & all the queens (I specifically like K Howard) look so cute! If you did animatics for the rest of the songs (IK you did Ex-Wives), I would absolutely watch those as well.

This is crazy creative!!!! So much attitude portrayed in this fantastic animatic I honestly believe it deserves so much more love! This is amazing! It definitely looks like you put a lot of hard work and thought into it. There were some parts that were very funny and very well executed. My favorites would have to be when Henry and Anne B. are searching for books and they show him a part of the Bible, only for Katherine A. to debunk them and the end when they're dancing and they stop as Henry's coming through only for him to be dropped down a trap door. 🤣🤣🤣 This is one of my favorite animatics for the song now and I look forward to seeing your future projects!
