Depends if hes turns out to be a good player. If the guy holds on to the cards for 10-20 years and this guy turns out to be a legend those cards are gonna be worth a lot. If hes doesnt become a legend then really no loss on the cards. Just look at rookie cards from like the 70s and 80s the jordan cards go for a lot an auto graphed one can be double. Dont know who this guy is i dont follow sports but i collect pokemon (i know how lame lol) but the cards are worth what people are willing to pay. And people are willing to pay a lot to add to a collection.

You think topps goes through evehrbrjgn to put cards in a notebook and get them signed and then put them into packs. Topps isn’t gonna track down every player at every gaem.

No. Minor leaguers typically dont care. Most will sign whatever is put in their face regardless of how many. You're not gonna find many(if any at all) major leaguers who would sign them all, but thats common at minor league games for guys to have stacks of cards for a player to sign.
