Not only a fantastic record, it during one of our worst seasons to boot. The kid knows how to buckle down and focus. Let’s pray that he keeps developing and becomes one of the great Yankees legends

They were giving him major league experience, and rightly so. I said this all last year too so it's not like I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I wish they did it with more prospects. Obviously it's paying off right now. Now that he's been hot for a decent enough stretch, the league will undoubtedly spend some time and energy trying to adjust to him again. So we will see how he responds.

Gunner certainly wasn't under the pressure Volpe was under along with this team playing terrible, those 2 things make a world of difference. Gunner didn't have to try an carry that team

@@ECCENTRICERIC69based on actually watching them Gunnar definitely looks like the better defender but statistically, Volpe is actually better. I think Gunnar had a really slow start defensively but got comfortable after a little bit and has looked great for a while now

@@evanpenn1 That was probably closer to 3 weeks ago. But yeah, you're right, he cooled off a huge amount. I think the league has adjusted to his adjustments. Now he has to adjust back. I guarantee you he's gonna have a much better year when it's all said and done. His plate discipline has made tremendous strides. he's also one of the best defensive short stops in the league.

These are overblown numbers. MLB has made it very easy with new rules. Juiced balls, bigger bases, and pitchers can throw to the bases only twice. Not fair to the players who played without such an advantage. No wonder baseball is down. Nothing against Volpe. He is not the only beneficiated of this.

@@romanc.5074nah. There’s a lot of factors that go into the change in attendance numbers but they are in fact up 9% from 2022. Also, the 5 teams that have the highest jump in attendance from last year are the Phillies, rangers, Astros, reds, guardians. The dodgers and the Yankees were actually some of the teams with the lowest jump in attendance numbers.
