I have just listened to the memorable Handel-Halvorsen version played by Julia Fischer (violin) & Daniel Muller-Schott (cello) which is SO different - full of fire and musical drama. This is such a peaceful but excellent alternative and needs to be played as often, to try and understand what the composers were "saying".

One of the most beautiful versions I've ever heard! Just a couple things I think you should do: Play each variation twice instead of once, and play variations 12 and 13 like the original.
