Fun fact for anyone interested, walking up to a lodge, knocking on the door, and asking for more information is the best way to join the Freemasons. One of their written rules is actually a freemason will never ask you to join or will you ever be solicited to join, you have to be willing to join yourself and approach them on your own accord.

I legit did the same thing in my early 20s. Just went to the lodge downtown and asked about it and the guy there was like "oh sure. If you want, the lodge doubles as a free library full of books written by masons. Feel free to hang out and read as much as you want". They had a meeting the following day and invited me to go an hour before and meet all the members and ask any questions I wanted. The only thing I couldnt do was actually attend the meeting. It was a bunch of 70-80 year olds eating dinner and talking about how that was their one night per month to get out of the house and hang out Theyre actually super open about letting people know about them

The Masonic Temple in our city is where a lot of community events take place. We used to do children’s theater shows in one of the ceremonial halls and you could just kinda wander through the entire place when it wasn’t actively being used for mason purposes. My grandma participated in the female version while her 3rd husband participated in the freemasons so I grew up around it. It was just a social club, which for seniors in small towns keeps them active and they do charity work. yes its very Christian. A buddy of mine and I went to a local lodge and did something very similar. They were in the midst of prepping for a weekly meeting/ceremony. An old guy got mad at us for being there, yet we kept asking to learn more. He grabbed someone else with more patience and knowledge. This other member preceded to tell us they rent the Mason Hall to a church on Sundays, but the church wasn't allowed to use their "sanctuary" as Sundays were a "dark day" in observance of "the deity", so the church was forced to use their mess area in the basement. Weird stuff.

My Dad was a Freemason. They had the stair lift chair thingy in their lodge... the stairs went up 3 steps and the turned to go the rest of the way up about 15 to 20 steps... The chair lift only went up the first 3 steps and stopped at the landing where it turned..

I have multiple masons in my family, from what I gather it's like a DND campaign where everyone plays dress up and reads from the same book like they're reciting a play basically but it's all entered around god (or your chosen higher being) and benefiting people around you like my dad's lodge donated a London air ambulance for example

Used to perform at the free Mason lodge every year around Christmas.

My dad was in, but after a few years he had a peticular meeting at a certain rank and he came home freaked out, quit, and shut off his social media. Besides telling my mom it was not a Christian freedly club and not moraly right. My whole family didn't even know he was in and I didnt learn it till I was in the military. My mom was destressing to me and told me alot about him. My siblings don't even know about it still. He was great at bowling so there was a cover story that he was a bowler on a actual team. He had fake teammates we met and everything. 😂

As long as your respectful, you'd be shocked how much Freemasons will show you at the lodge and tell you about what they do. But they have to know they can trust you, and if they're that friendly, they might reach out to you later about returning if you're interested.
