As someone who upgraded from an iPad 8th gen to the pink 10th gen I am actually thankful it is still compatible with the 1st gen Apple Pencil. I already had one and didn’t have to buy a new one.

This is the most levelheaded review I’ve seen for this iPad. Everyone else goes to complain about the non laminated display and the lack of Apple Pencil 2 support. I personally have the first gen Apple Pencil and would not want to buy another pencil just to have a nicer looking iPad.

The easily losable dongle and price bump doesn’t seem like a good deal for students. Imagine having to carry a dongle and cable around just to pair your pencil, such a hassle.

I love my iPad 10 I got it because I already owned an Apple Pencil 1st gen and once you pair it you don’t need to worry about doing it again. I’ve gotten used to charging it from the wall.

I owned the Logitech Combo Touch with the iPad 8th gen. It was a great product despite the keyboard being very loose when off the desk. I can see why Apple would steal that idea of a two-piece keyboard case for their iPads, but the price is too steep for me.

Really weird when they say 64gb isn't enough... usually people use ipads as a secondary device so storage isn't super important due to cloud storage or having space somehwere else. Yes I wish 128GB was standard on the ipads too.

Apple released a new apple pencil with usb c and it supports ipad 10, so that’s something that may be of help

Take away: Being a student on a budget, go for iPad 9th gen, worth the money. If you are going but base premium, neglect 10th gen, buy iPad Air.

I really like the display although it's non laminated but there is a very little gap and if you break it, it will not break your bank to repair it .

Everyone is saying it doesn't supports Apple Pencil 2 but if it will support it they should remove the landscape camera,so puting them together will make the ipad 100 times thicker. Apple knows what they're doing.

In Europe you pay 1000€ for a base iPad 10 with 64GB, a pencil and the keyboard. For a tablet, without a laminated display. A thousand bucks. Not very student friendly.

I am upgrading from an IPad 6th gen to my now IPad 10th gen Pink and i have to say i am in love with this IPad. It’s a Gigantic upgrade from my older IPad, I got a Bluetooth keyboard case on Amazon for $30 and it works great with my IPad, I must admit I am NOT liking the USB-C. I know I am the minority on this, My old IPad the lighting Cable was rock solid in the charger port. My new iPad and every USB-C device I have encountered the charger cable wiggles pretty significantly. I haven’t had any issue with charging however I am concerned for later on down the road. I am going to miss the lighting cable, All my other devices as i use older apple products use lightning other than this new IPad. It better hold on tho because this suckers gonna get me through nursing school haha 😂

after all this time I still can't figure out why should someone prefer buying this iPad instead of a 4th gen iPad air for the same price. The worst part about it are the new accessories, the kickstand doesn't allow to tilt the iPad enough to write comfortably, it's not backlit so it's barely usable at night and it's white so it's impossible to clean, no matter how hard you try, that keyboard will be nasty after a week and it will remain nasty untile the end of times. The only good thing is that finally the front camera is positioned in a sensed place but unless you make hours of facetime calls every single day I don't think that's a good enough reason to choose this device over and iPad Air, even an older model than the current M1

Great video-thank you! I am about to be a student again (getting an all-online Master’s) after last attending school over ten years ago, so I definitely appreciate your perspective as a student. My case is a little different-I have about a one-hour commute each way to work on public transport, and I’m hoping to knock out as much of my online Master’s work during that time. I am looking at getting an iPad, but this new one’s keyboard setup is probably a dealbreaker for me… I do plan on using my device on my lap, and this seems like it would take up way too much lap space (maybe more than I can offer) between the full keyboard and the extra area needed for the kickstand. My older iPad with the keyboard that also can be folded back as a stand takes up probably only 2/3 the space. (If you could do a short demoing using this one on your lap, that would be greatly appreciated!)

I am planning on buying between the Ipad air 5 & Ipad 10. But I've heard that the air 5 has built quality issues with screen creaking problems. Can anyone tell me if they've recently bought the air 5 and faced any similar issues. Otherwise I will have to go with the ipad 10. Are there any issues with the ipad 10, if anyone heard about any. hating the choice of buying it. doesn’t have SO much features the others have, for example the possibility to split the screen in more than 2, which is something that would be useful for studying. don’t know if I should try to sell everything(even though i’m still paying for it) and maybe buy a refurbished ipad air…

This device definitely breaks the bank. Idk what anyone else says. Base android tablets are way cheaper then this base "Budget tablet" and thats not even counting the apple pencil. 🙄 Always loved apple's products but this move just make students like me lean more towards android tablets for our studying needs.

I’m still learning how to use my (10)generation tablets just bought one months ago now and iPhone 14 pro max and my first time I am bough and learning how to use with a scratch and never use from the beginning of my life ,because always my older my #1 son did everything for me anything I needed and I loved my (10) I took with me even at work to watch movies at break time,because I choose wi-fi with cellular and from now from now I will buy with cellular with this side or mini tablets that I planning for next year to give to my daughter birthday. I'd never understand why would anyone buy this when you can buy the ipad air 4 for cheaper or same same price at best buy!! If not you can go for a refurbished ipad air 5 which are just as new. All the external Apple keyboards for iPad are expensive. The MK is $300 for the Air. It’s probably because a Tablet doesn’t need one & Apple has got jokes. That there 10 is an iPad you get for your 8 yr old for school or for someone just watching Videos and FaceTime who likes the ease of Apple OS & it’s pre installed Apps. (In the US anyway.) No keyboard or extra gigs required. Nice review.

just get a Samsung galaxy tab. avoid texture screen protectors on it. the spen is a soft tipped pen which wears away like crazy with such a protector

It’s crazy to me this and the Ipad Air are about in price parody with the M1 & M2 Macbook Airs. The software needs to be better and a competitive alternative to Mac or they need to start melding the two together. I personally am tired of buying an Ipad and Macbook to do all the things I want so I snagged a Surface Pro 8 for $950 to include keyboard. Its ALOT cheaper. There are things that aren’t as convenient and it may not always look the nicest but I would take the short comings based on the price differences. Apple is a mainstream product. Sure there’s an Apple tax but it shouldn’t be on their bottom tier products.
