Toji explains that in order to negate/nullify Red and Blue with the Inverted Spear, he has to time it perfectly. Reason he didn't negate the red is because up until that point, he was under the impression Gojo only knew Blue. He wasn't prepared for the mf to whip out an entirely new move right after coming back from the dead

the speae doesnt neutralize the CT it makes you turn it off, so it doesnt work with attacks that are already shot off but it works with a passive like Gojos infinity
