@@abobakranwari4748 i know what you both try to say, stiff muscles are stiff if you're focusing to much on one region or muscle to much and specially dont stretch, doesnt matter if its due to cali or gym workouts, its easier to progress in a gym and its a lot easier to get bigger, i can still do frontlevers even tho i switched to more gymfocused workouts, you just have to unlock them, but yes its harder if you carry more weight around

Well, you can build muscles much more efficient in the gym with special equipment made for this. Calisthenics is about skills, not building muscles, although it builds some as well. All I'm trying to say is, if your main concern is bodybuilding, calisthenic is not the best option among others.
@captainalbert2143
@captainalbert2143 3 жыл бұрын
True. But still, Calisthenics can give you a very impressive physique if you wish to go down to that road. Especially on the upper body. Lower body, not so much but there are ways to grow there as well 😉 Calisthenics teaches your body how to work as a system, weights teach your body how to grow and exert power.
@grzegorzjedrzejowski5746
@grzegorzjedrzejowski5746 3 жыл бұрын
@@captainalbert2143 You are almost right, but despite the fact you can build impressive upper body by calisthenics, you still lack isolation and progressive overload. You just cannot get as good results as in the gym (on a competetive level)

@captainalbert2143
@captainalbert2143 3 жыл бұрын
@@grzegorzjedrzejowski5746 Progressive overload in calisthenics is achievable by changing the mechanical lever of the exercises, doing them on apparatuses that allow you to go over better range of motion or more instability (rings, P-Bars, stuff) or simply put progressions. Friendly reminder that certain weight training advanced techniques like periodization and many others can be used in calisthenics, you just need to apply them well. I'd recommend reading Overcoming Gravity 2 it offers good insight on how to train calisthenics up to the advanced level. But yes I agree with your main point. There are some arguments in favor of calisthenics not having isolation, some say that your body is meant to work together and not in isolation, so calisthenics is actually a good method of training for most. I do not know the accuracy of this theory but it gives food for thought. I don't even believe in it myself. Just wanted you to know. So yeah, weight training is best for explosive power and hypertrophy, calisthenics is best for being able to put your body in different ranges of motion and strength relative to your bodyweight.
@grzegorzjedrzejowski5746
@grzegorzjedrzejowski5746 3 жыл бұрын
@@captainalbert2143 i actually never stated that it progressive overload is impossible in calisthenics. What I had in mind, was the fact that you lack possibilities after certain level. You can make an exercise easier, but from specific point not harder or the difficult gap is too big. I can set handstand push up as an example. You can train it as an equivalent of military press and you can go from pike push up to full rom and you can even increase rom. But from that (not talking about general difficult) you do not have much more possibilities since other variations are very skill required. It makes it very ineffecient since the simpler the movement in bodybuilding is, the better overload you can create by performing it. I can understand and believe that you can compare bodybuilding of the upper parts to classic gym exercises, however there are details that are the most important. I can actually talk a lot to describe the problem, but I'm not sure that this discusion require the amount of information
