The circuit is different, because its a clone of an old vintage "original" from 1993. And you can adjust the bass cut with a wider range.

Great tones! I’ve got the AionFX Andromeda which is an ODR-1 clone with a bass control. It’s my foundational pedal. It sits last in the chain because that is what most affects the tone, and it stacks gloriously with the EHX Spruce Goose (Bluesbreaker). Great use of that cut.

The spectrum boosts or cuts highs and lows at the same time. My theory why people say it has too much low end is because they turn up the spectrum knob expecting it to get brighter but you're boosting lows too.
@NickyV
@NickyV 6 ай бұрын
Totally get that, and I think most people don't realize this. Personally, I want to be able to get more sparkle on the top without bringing in anything below 200(ish)Hz. I think your theory is spot on, thank you for watching!

Killer demo! Would you say this would be able to cover some blues rock styles or a pushed fender type tone, say SRV, Philip Sayce and some Hendrix lower gain/pushed cleans? Does the gain go low and clear enough for that? Seems like this and other Nobels ODR-1 variants are awesome at being a great all around amp-like tone, but Ive never seen someone use one to pull out some of those type of tones yet, so just curious. Thanks!
@NickyV

It doesn’t have the super mid heavy TS thing in my opinion but I actually use it clean more than anything. Seems to live on about 2-3 on the drive knob most of the time when tracking. But can definitely roar if you need it to. Appreciate the kind words and you checking the video out
@xderiwx

@@NickyV I was actually thinking of using it as a base tone to mimic a pushed amp, and then run another pedal into it at times rather than trying to use it like a tube screamer. How do you like the 30th with single coils? Thanks!

Hello Nick, In general, are you printing your tone with Effects or, are you sending in a dry Guitar signal with Effects separate? Thanks, Steve
@NickyV
@NickyV 2 ай бұрын
Hey Steve, it depends on what the client/producer/engineer wants. Sometimes it all goes analog to tape, sometimes all delays and verbs are in the box, sometimes a combination of the two. Some prefer my printed effects and a DI. So it all varies.
@positivityduo
@positivityduo 2 ай бұрын
So, if you’re asked for dry guitar with separate stereo effects, how do you capture it all for recording.
@NickyV
@NickyV 2 ай бұрын
@@positivityduo I run into a radial DI that goes to a channel on my interface then to a track in my DAW. From the other side of that DI it goes to my Pedal Board and Amp then to the DAW. This gives the option of DI, Dry Amped Signal, and Dry Amped Signal with stereo effects if needed.

I am sorry but for 50 euro I got a klone from the Klon Centaure and it sounds at least as good ( I think even better ) as this Nobels overdrive pedal.( 160 euro's ) You may think what you ethical find of this purchase but sound wise it is a fact . But you got your free pick and an official certificate so go for it man !!!
@NickyV
@NickyV 17 күн бұрын
I have a few Klon style pedals, use an archer select quite a bit. The Klon sounds great in a room as a snarly attitude pedal and amazing live but the ODR-1 has something that working in the context of a mix for more uses. If budget is a concern I also have the cheap Nobels mini on my big studio board and love it on sessions. Just two different flavors for two different uses in my opinion.
