Nobuyuki Tsujii & high-school friend Jean Michel Kim play the first movement of Mozart's Sonata for Two Pianos in D, K. 448, in Paris' Salle Érard. Background story at mlliu2006.blogspot.com/2017/12...
Yes, that's why I wanted to share this footage. They are old school friends and in the documentary from where this video came, Nobu said they used to play like that till late hours and had to be told to stop. ^_^

Yeah, good point. It amuses me to see Nobu placidly play on, in blissful oblivion of the frantic flipping of pages of his sighted fellow performer. I once saw him in rehearsal of Tchai 1 with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. At one point, the conductor said let's do it again at a certain point, Nobu started right away, without hesitation, while the orchestra members were still flipping the pages of their scores. Everybody laughed, including the conductor and Nobu himself, once he realized what happened. ^_^

It is just sooo amazing to me that Nobu has memorized soooo many piano classics!!! Soooo awesome. And he does it with such skill and finesse.Although I do enjoy listening to some others, I usually return to Nobu because I like his style and skill. He is as soo many have said God given and that is so obvious. You go Nobu. I love to listen to you. Keep up the good work.

It's always a pleasure to hear from you. Clearly we are on the same page when it comes to Nobu. There are countless piano virtuosos, and I do listen to them on radio. But as with you, my heart is with Nobu because of his sincerity and I too also prefer his straightforward style that puts the composer first. Yeah, we are on the same wavelength :-)

Thank you for watching and for your comments. How I wish I could be in Germany again to see Nobu perform in the great concert halls. I was at his Hamburg debug last October (2019) -- a lifetime ago and more precious now than ever.
I feel like Salieri did of Mozart....pure envy and astonishment at the same time. Nobu has no clue how good he is, just like Mozart. They just simply do what they do and we simply act like Salieri did

Sightless, Nobu is not encumbered with vanity and ego. He simply enjoys playing for people. So he's not quite like Mozart (who was rather self-centered), and his performances are pure joy.
Как он разучивает произведения??? Непонятно. И столько текста наизусть!!! И так легко преподносит любую музыку. Нет ничего , что он не смог бы сыграть. Он трижды гений!!
