Nocera is from Parma, Italy. Her producer, Floyd Fisher, is from New York. Mantronix mixed the record. Nocera & Fisher wrote the song, 1987. Nocera still performs the song!

OMG, I heard this song at work today January 09 2021 and I remembered when it originally came out as I was a young man serving in the military and stationed at NAS Lemoore CA and my then girlfriend was attending Fresno State University, she is Hispanic and Asian mixed, that girl would have us dancing to the Long version of this song everytime, man, those were Fantastic and Great days.

I may not be able to go back to my era but i'm glad the newer generation can appreciate this because it's a testament that this music will always be great. It doesn't disrespect women and the songs had clarity, allowing people to understand that it was all about love. You could come from any walk of life and fit in. Freestyle is and will always be alive. Funhouse,10-18, Broadway96 ,Emerald City, Studio54, Devils Nest, Bonds, Gothams, Roseland, Underground, Union SQ, Heart throbs,Tunnel, Garage, Boiler room. These places and several others were legendary.

This song is part of my life’s soundtrack I was born in 1970 I was only 10 in 1980 I am 100% 80’s kid the best decade in American history the most prosperous and the best music. I grew up in Miami all my high school years were immortalized in this particular music! Ok, I thought I was the only one that remembered that. I don't remember back in those days it being called "Freestyle" I remember just calling it Dance Music or Top 40 Music. I was a Dj back then and most people would come up to the booth and ask for top 40 music and as a DJ You would already now what they wanted.

yooooo ...this was the jam when I was a teen ..freestyle was always on the radio back in Philly back then ..still is the shit...! I think of parties,clubs..in the mall going past the girls clothes stores and hearing this blasting from a Chess King or Merry Go Round....LOL

I'm sorry but if you were not a teen or young adult during 80s high energy/freestyle era, you reeeeeeally missed out! It was a FABULOUS time and the club scene was on FIRE back then! San Francisco Bay, 1986, cruising the El Camino on a warm Summer night headed to City Nights or The Palladium (SF Clubs). Ahhhhh....the memories!
