G'day AV, what a very interesting topic, really looking forward to part 2 with the fan swap, my favourite type of content is when viewers can learn something 😁, Channels like yours, RGinHD & other low spec or older parts channels show that there is good content to be made without the need to get Freebie CPUs & GPUs

Looking forward to the painted vs raw testing. Very good video. Only thing I would recommend is seeing how it responds with higher core count higher power parts like Core i7/9s or Ryzen 7/9s.

I can't wait for the U12A in all black. I just bought the Mugen 5 Black edition. Man it looks good. The Black edition now has a 1500 RPM Kaze Flex fan.

I almost bought this cooler when I first built my current pc as my case could only support smaller coolers but then I found Noctua's C14S which thankfully isn't that much taller than the U9S and got it instead.

I got this for my Xeon LGA-1200 since it has the extra heat pipe then the Server / workstation NH-U9DX U4. It can be used in 2x fan as NH-Ux-1489. I prefer the bright aluminium look myself but maybe w/ an RGB ring or white frame.

I’ve got a u9s with 2 fans in push pull on a overclocked 3900x - love that cooler, good value, looks nice and gets the job done :)

What kind of temps are you getting with that? This cooler seems to be one of the only decent ones I can find to fit case.

I got the chromax with a Ryzen 9 3900x in a Corsair 4000D case. I get low 60’s high 50’s in idle. While gaming I get mid 60’s to low 70’s. It only hit 73c one time and never passes 72c while gaming hard.

How does these compare to the Cryorig M9? They almost have the same form factor but many times the difference in price. You did a review on the M9 years ago but it would be interesting to know how these compare in turns of temperature and noise.

BTW, with the focus of your channel seeming to be on coolers and cases, and seeing how fan performance is (as you mention in this video) so integral to the performance of those products, are fan reviews / round ups something you might think about doing in future videos?

Definitely, I've been sort of moving towards that idea for a while but I've not put it into practice. I picked up an anemometer a couple of months ago, now I'm just waiting for some free time to figure out the best way to review fans and make a video. Great suggestion though, definitely on the cards!

LNA are probably most used on older motherboards that does not have the same range of adjustment of fanspeed :-)

I bought this cpu cooler only to find noctua no longer include am3+ brackets and you can't find them anywhere 😭 contacted noctua directly by email and will see if they give me an am3 bracket free of charge

I'm guessing the difference you're showing would less dramatic when comparing a larger, more powerful cooler like the D15 and the Chromax D15. More and more powerful fans, more heat pipes, more aluminum, and less chance of paint versus no paint having enough of an effect to make a difference in the results. All that being said, I'm glad they're offering the Chromax coolers, but I feel like plenty of people would be interested in the nickel / aluminum coolers but with the black fans. I actually love the look of their bare metal heat sinks, and it's too bad you can only do bare metal + black fan by buying a Chromax fan separately.

Probably, although I'm sure if you scaled up the heat source with the cooler size you might see a similar result.

There is 2° - degree - difference between Chromax and Standart. Non- black edition is of better coolin' . I think black paint has negative effect on aerodynamics
