I used this but was disappointed it needs work. Original node controller is better as it gives more control over your roads. Like u can move that red dot in original node controller whereever u want but here, that sort of movement is vary limited

@@peksn It's really amazing to have so many mods where you're like, "wait, how could anyone release a city builder without this?" And that was just with Anarchy, MoveIt, and TMPE. The fact that we also have Procedural Objects, Interseciton Marking Tool, Network Multitool, and Node Controller really raises the bar for what is to be expected out of a game like this. Unforunately the original sin of square + single-use zoning is yet unsolved. I don't have the computing power to use PO on all my corners so it's grids for me

Paradox needs to acknowledge these mods more and incorporate these mods into the base game and freelance the developers.
@pleaserespond3984
@pleaserespond3984 3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure that's such a good idea. I do agree that maybe Paradox should sponsor some of those mods, but making them an official part of the game might be too much for the casual player. I would prefer if they make the default road tools more intelligent, so more players can have better looking cities, without having to hand-tune so many intersections. Obviously you should still be able to do hand-tune everything you want to get the best city, but I do think there is a case to be made for making players' roads better by default.

@@pleaserespond3984 fair point but they could implement a difficulty system having the default being the base game as it is now.

@@YUMBL So true!! I love those parts too. I don't like city painting, so I barely use RICO (which I subbed to recently). I love natural growth but I dislike buildings not connecting. However, I also want things to look realistic, like roads and crosswalks. Right now, I am working on a Netherland inspired city. Proper road, bike, street and transit infrastructure to build people-centred urban areas, not car-centric.

Great tutorial! have been watching a few of these now. As I took a break from the game for about 1.5-2 years, your mod collection + these tutorials are such a nice way to get back into it. Also because it was a bit too overwhelming to check each of my subscribed mods to see if they still worked, and its seems many of them have better replacement mods now. Last time I made a big project was with CSUR, which was fun in its own way learning how to use it. So can confirm, this makes it look as good as CSUR :D

It also comes in handy in the middle of roads, not just at intersections. Those middle nodes are where cars do their lane changes. If you bump up the offset where a lot of lane changes are happening those lane changes will be much smoother... no more 90 degree jumps across three lanes. I've seen this make a major difference in traffic at some trouble spots.

Any game is just game. It is the modding community which makes the game fun, and Cities Skylines has really great way of Installing mods, I love it. I wish games like GTA V were the same so that it would be easy to add mods and more content. Because everyone want to personalize their game to their liking. Mods are important aspect of the game so that user can decide what all things they want in game and what all they don't want.

I work road construction for a living, and we call the chevroned or hashed area where lanes and ramps separate and come together the "gore."
@Jetmech1781
@Jetmech1781 3 жыл бұрын
Learn something every day. I looked it up, because I thought it was called a median, as well. Here's what I found: Gore (road): A gore, gore point, or gore zone is a triangular piece of land found where roads or rivers merge or split. When two roads merge, the area is sometimes referred to as a merge nose. Gores on freeways in the United States and Canada are frequently marked with stripes or chevrons at both entrance and exit ramps. the term is more commonly used among "insiders," such as road construction crews, police, traffic engineers, and so on.

*center or merging/diverging island, or at lest that's what we usually call stripes like that here... we usually resurve a gore for splitting traffic going the same direction such the entrance to an off ramp or the start of the chicanes for a roundabout. ;) Congrats on having the stripes (chevrons, yes even though they are not the full chevron shape) in the right orientation to the traffic. I love your instructions, you tell how to do it, not just assume we know all the commands. I'm going to use this and the timed lights to fix the DDI I tried to copy from you. I put it in an already existing interchange. I got it to work but the slopes are weird and the traffic backs up in one lane in one direction. It doesn't help that it's right next to a big intersection.

Holy *bleep* on a *bleep* sandwich. With *bleep* on top. This looks amazing. Node controller has had some serious updates since I last used version 2.0 two weeks ago. This will make road management sooooo much easier.

Great video. Nice someone explains this mod in understandable terms. I have one question: Where can I get the dark/black roads in portions of your road network? Looks great like those sections have just been paved/repaved.

I simultaneously drool over every hint of C:S2, and curse the odds of the killer mods (this one, Move-It, EDS, etc) being included...

I want engine improvements, and for as many “essential” mods to be included as possible. Sounds simple, right? 😂

For a stack interchange with a subsequent lane merge, the lane merge should be 1 mile away to prevent a slowdown signal to be transmitted on to the prior roadway (10E to 405S, we are talking about you).
