A worker thread runs a piece of code as instructed by the parent thread in isolation from the parent and other worker threads. Each worker thread has its own isolated V8 environment, event loop, event queue, etc.

Is there any queue used by the event loop to execute the on message callback of the worker? At what point the event loop gets to executing the on message callback from the worker thread?

shouldn’t you “disable cache” in dev when proving it’s 2ms only? well no, it’s local anyway. thanks for the video, never used pm2, but built my own little process manager just using forks and assigned workers to initial core, then I think to remember the cpu itself load balances cores

How THREADPOOL_SIZE is different than the worker_threads? If system having 8 cores then we can set max THREADPOOL_SIZE to 8 so in the same way we can create maximum 8 worker_thread only? if it is the case then I see only one difference in THREADPOOL_SIZE and worker_threads in THREADPOOL_SIZE we can not control which thread should perform what task i mean node js will contorl those 8 threads but in case of worker_threads we can control any new thread we are creating i mean we can control what task should be performed by which thread? i mean we can't control default 4 threads but the remaining 4 threads we can control? I don't know if my understanding is correct or not? can anyone clear my doubt? Thanks

How many maximum worker threads can be created and used?

Totally depends on how many cores your CPU have. For Example if your CPU have 8 cores, no matter how many workers you create only 8 will be working.

if I remember correctly, encryption in node is done with v8 thread pools so using worker_threads would be pointless.
