A lot of you may not have heard of this park, I know hadn’t but free parking, free camping, beautiful sites and easy portages make it a great place to explore! The smoke and pollen were in the air and the fire ban was in full swing but we didn’t let that dampen our spirits!

Thanks a lot for your video. I have been contemplating doing a solo trip for over a year. Never found details of something simple or how do get it done. I got confidence after seeing this video and I did a one nighter into Kawigamog lake the past weekend. By coincidence stayed in exactly the same camp site as you guys did. Now I will attempt the full loop into Noganosh in 2 weeks. Subscribed and thanks again for the simple explanation.

You’re very welcome! I’m glad it helped you out! That’s the reason I make my videos, to help get people out there appreciating nature. Hopefully your upcoming trip goes well for you : ). (Sorry for the late reply, we were in the Temagami cluster doing a 10 day loop)

Only one book-Kevin Callan's Top 60 Canoe Routes of Ontario-has been mentioned by Noganosh to my knowledge. There is a map included as well. But I should add that those who want to choose this route will find it simpler thanks to your video. I appreciate you providing the details. Not many individuals choose to do it. Additionally, I have special admiration for campers who camp in the bug season in a fire ban; that takes a special determination.✌

Thanks for the kind words! I have a few of Kevin Callan’s books, not sure if I have that one though. Very useful books! All mine have tags on the routes that caught my interest and I’m checking them off one by one.

No problem, happy to help! If you liked that area I definitely recommend checking out the Queen Elizabeth Wildlands 2 park or Chiniguchi Waterways Park, if you haven’t already. Both are free as well and beautiful places to visit! I have done videos on both places and featured them in my “ Best Places to Backcountry Camp” video. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/btqFoLqr1dSZZ3U.htmlsi=AxfqV7ioEFynamOV

@@mancini2020 if you do make it up to Chiniguchi I recommend checking out paradise lagoon, climbing the elephant for the awesome lookout, spending a day camping on the epic beach sites in McConnell bay and paddling Donald lake for the cliffs and sweet sites. Cheers!

I am back from my visit and it did not go well for me. I am not in great shape and 65, so I was quite exhausted when I slipped and rolled down a granite hill. Lots of scrapes and a sore shoulder, but otherwise okay. Still, we didn't make it into the park, just camped 5 nights on the main channel. Our first site had no camp accessories such as logs or rock shelves to help with making meals. We struggled to find the campsites that were marked, finding only one other one, which thankfully had a thunderbox and a hand crafted table.

I’m sorry to hear that the trip didn’t go as planned. Hopefully you recovered from the fall. A lot of the campsites on in the park and surrounding crowned land are not well equipped since it is an unorganized park. There are a few gems in there with tables and thunderboxes etc.

@@ryansroutes1805 There was one in the narrow spot on Smokey Creek before the lawn tractor portage. I saw the remnants of it in your footage right around when you said it looks like the water is low due to a possible Beaver damn blow out.

@@Brentdarley yah I figured that’s where it was was when we passed through. Luckily it was still passable lol. I’ve had situations like that where your either trudging sludge or bushwhacking the shoreline to get where you need to go. Always makes for a nice wrench in the gears lol.

It would not be surprising that the central sites are heavily used. I intend to check out Mud Lake, Last Lake and John Lake; all to the west.

There are at least a half dozen vid's on Noganosh. The map that Jon of Lost Lakes made does show camping spots but there are a few others, one of which tells you where there are picnic tables and reveal some 'better' sites. The Happy Camper has one in which they try to improve the portage over to Island Lake to the west. He (Kevin Callan) also has a book which includes this route, something like Top 70 Canoe Routes in Ontario.

That’s interesting, I watched the old videos lost lakes had made but wasn’t aware he had made a map of it as well. Must be one of the few books Kevin has written that I haven’t read. Thanks for the info!
