I'm a big Noisia fan and I appreciate the new album, but I have to honestly admit that it was on the album Closer that I really understood why Noisia stopped. The interviewer said Closer was his favorite album (which I respect of course) but I think you can also see from Noisia's reactions that it's not. It doesn't come close to the perfect concept, emotion, attention to detail and innovation of Outer Edges. Outer Edges is unmatched in terms of production level to this day. But that's okay, Closer still has a high standard and I'm grateful for the album, but I now understand that all three have different visions for their new music. First Noisia developed itself and then the other artists in the scene. It's time to move on. Noisia has done so much for us and understands that it's time to create something new instead of clinging to something that can no longer develop under these circumstances. If you love something, sometimes you have to let it go. Thank you for all the wonderful tracks that I still love and can emotionally grab me to this day.

I feel like that’s why they released it technically as a compilation and not as an album. I remember the singles trickling in and it really seemed like a focused album was coming, but after years of singles it seems like they couldn’t really commit themselves to finish an album so they just put the singles together.

thank you for this interview too! i love it! i love to hear all of you speaking as Noisia one last time! Thank you for that last hard work you made together to give us CLOSER! I heard all of your new projects in May, i would like those projects to be more recognised too, Body Ocean, Thys, Sleepnet, Zonderling. I love how we can still hear some of the signs/sounds of Noisia there in some tracks. I love when you collab, because it's not exactly Noisia, but instead we have something more, something new, we need more collabs between you without the needing of sounding like Noisia when you collab, next song --> Sleepnet ft. Zonderling - Syht😅
@TheSonicTooth

I think Sleepnet and Thys are a much more likely collaboration though :D Zonderling is a lot more pop-oriented.

Huge fan of Noisia, I am 32 been listening since I was 17 (Cannonball), then 'The Tide/Concussion', 'Stigma', then 'Split the Atom' followed by 'Outer Edges', 'Purpose' with 'Running Blind' as the benchmark tune for most electronic music (until this day), in terms of creativity and loudness its objectively the greatest track I have heard. Closer is the closing album, but it doesn't touch some of the earlier works. This is a sombre statement, I am sad its at an end... Long live Noisia! BTW the Billian remix of Stigma is brilliant, so glad that happened, epic tune.

The first noisia tune I ever heard was moonway renegade..... Blew my mind, was the most clever dnb I had heard at that time and was/is on another level. Massive fan ever since..... Infact in the last 20 years the only album I paid money for was noisia split the atom...... Says a lot :) wanted to support them.... :)

No matter what, Noisia has infinite respekt. How they've held together the scene is unparalleled. The glue that kept things alive even in unchanging times which would stale other genres, Noisia is a name which holds light. The torch. The way... I had no idea there was stress. I could see this could happen in any situation where there are expectations. Fuk expectations. fuk commitments. Just do art. Make no excuses. Just be real. luv nd respekt.

It's funny how they mention the IMANU collaboration as one of the oldest tracks with a really shitty drop. They polished the fuck out of that track. Shift is one of my favorite tunes from Closer.
@jordanmeliani4621
@jordanmeliani4621 2 жыл бұрын
It’s really old, I think it first emerged around 2015. And I gotta say for the drop it’s not shitty at all, but probably deja vu for them, I feel like it captures a lot of energy and the bass modulation releases lot of agressivity which I tend to look forward to from a neuro track as dark as this one. But I gotta say for those like me that waited for it since 2016, this is indeed shittier than it used to be, the latest to date and my favourite version of it is the one from Printworks london you can hear via a amateur recording of the live show. I really don’t and will never understand why they tweaked it onto something that feels less inspired to me. They gotta be trolling on the shitty part because they were rolling hard with it on the IMANU instagram video during Printworks
