It's a military grade rugged phone. The protection on the XR20 alone pushes the price right up. On the face of it as a general consumer phone it doesn't appear to make much sense. But as a phone for in the field, construction, active lifestyle it starts to make much more sense. The 480 chipset is better then lots of other so called claimed rugged phones. Wireless charging, programmable convenience key, one year free screen replacement for any reason, Duel speakers, Duel flash, OS support for 3yrs are all things that are valued by this part of the market. As for the camera is balanced to be what's needed to get the job done for it's intended use case. It's not meant to be a Samsung, pixel, or iPhone killer. I have a 128gb version and it's brilliant as a work phone ( I'm in construction ). Yes it's has compromises, but they are not ones that really make a difference to the market it's intended for. From a average consumer point of view it's a pointless phone in the sea of Android devices and I get that. However I do feel you was overly harsh on this phone without understanding in context. But I will certainly agree with you about no charger in the box and only accepting 18w charging speed. It's the one area I think it sucks a bit as someone who uses it daily. But overall for the price it's the best option available if you need a rugged phone.

Its smart rugged phone, they compromise some feature or spec to make it rugged devise. Not some high spec smart phone that broken easily just by accidently dropping it and aesily get water damage.

Right from the beginning of the review the phone is being thrashed. Try adding the protection tech on some other cheaper offerings and see their price shoot right up.

It's a rugged phone built for consumers who don't care about pretty phones and specs , it's more towards the outdoors market and should be judged for that , not slagging it off cause your not impressed with the specs mate , drop your phone from 1.8 metres see if it breaks cause the xr20 won't

Dude thanks for your time but I think this test was done with the wrong mindset. Its exactly like bringing a tractor to the F1 track and expect it to win!? Now try to bring the F1 cars to the field and race there :) You started to say its like a rugged device, it is a rugged device ..X(Rugged)20 so you had the wrong focus. Any xiaomi will get the same bad review if you test the rugged features on them. This is a device build to last, over time, and hardcore usage/environment. Seemed like a surprise device you recieved :)
