About me…. I’m normally hitting the parks or the beach with one of the many detectors I use for metal detecting the beach and fields. Metal Detecting can be fun and at the same time a nightmare due to the way the beach is always shifting, but if you hit it on a good day... BOOM! could be GOLD could be SILVER! Incredible. You can use these videos as a kind of online education but they’re really not! Oh and make sure you’re detecting is legal.

Metal Detecting is a good way of chilling out, its a good bit of therapy, fresh air, long walks. Its also a bit like those unboxing videos you see on youtube because even though you have an idea of what's buried below your feel you're never really sure. I've been Detecting with Deep Digger Dan during his digging the coast 365, that was fun. I used his XP Deus... Very light. I started out using the Garrett Ace 250 and then added a Nel Tornado coil. After that I started using a Nokta Makro Kruzer and some how managed to find so much more on land I thought had been detected to death. Silver coins, WWII badges and bullets and down the beach I've even found GOLD and Silver Rings. In my latest video I've finally found a Roman Coin and A Saxon Strap End. Thanks for revisiting the Simplex. Just got mine last Fall and am a long way from upgrading (except for an SP 24 coil and carbon fibre lower arm). And don't worry, we already thought you were mental BEFORE finding the lion.

Still a great machine mTe has neverblet me down and ideal for the ground i hunt on nothing ever deeper than 8 inches so perfect but still will hut deeper targets if required Thanks for sharing mate loved it happy hunting

Yes the good old simplex .. I keep watching all the new machines coming out but .. for the price I paid for mine ...hit a lot of bucket listers 2 gold coins dozen or so hammered silvers from permissions just over 2.5 k in spendables from local parks etc I struggle to think is any machine out there going to justify me spending the money for not much more of a performance ... compared to the price range.... I do think the pinpoint button is a pain where it is on the simplex + , especially as I'm left handed .

Got a good chuckle from that. I keep my Simplex in case someone wants to see what detecting is all about. I always turn it off when I show them how to pinpoint... Still does a good job, but the Legend is much better.

Still got mine, running latest software 2.78. Great machine for the money, I don’t actually think it’ll miss anything that my other machines hit (Deus, Atrex etc)

Nokta website shows that they are now discontinued. I don't know if it's just temporary, but it would be a shame if it's permanent.10/22/23

It's Permanent Since 2021 And just 2 years after it was out and No MORE Updates for it and I Was having Great EMI Problem's with my Simplex and I have traded it and got a Equinox 600! that's needs the Updates and I have since bought the X-Terra Pro and it's going great and I have also eliminated 2 Junk Carry Bags from my Belt when I was using the Simplex but it has to be there to find the Targets and I was digging up everything that was beeping and the X-Terra Pro is telling me not to dig up everything that is beeping and that's why I have gotten rid of the Bags and my legs are not hurting anymore 😮....

When you say old and new simplex, how do you tell which version you have. I wasn't aware there were two. Has there just been a new release? I can't find anything on the Web.

The new simplex is either Simplex Lite, Simplex BT or Simplex Ultra… the one I was using is the original old Simplex +

Because the Simplex + is on the Discontinued Detector List as of 2021 and No MORE Updates 2.78 is the last and I have gotten rid of my Simplex and got the Minelab X-TERRA Pro and it's totally different Detector than the Simplex and everything else that I have ever owned in the 50 years of Detecting and I love the X-Terra Pro and I have eliminated 2 Junk Carry Bags from my Belt that I was using with the Simplex + and No MORE unneeded digs of Junk Target's with the X-Terra Pro ❤❤❤....

And the Simplex + will have it printed on the head of the detector and the program version is on the lower left side of the screen once you turn it on and the Simplex 2.78 is the Last One for the Simplex + and the other Detectors will also have their name on the head of the detector and the New Simplex Lineup is, Simplex Lite and Simplex BT and the Simplex Ultra.....
