I enjoy seeing this also, genuine. And a humble reality like the love of music cant be hidden, and that is that "bars"/"groove"/"riffs" is music, so who fuckin cares what genre as long as it sounds good to us :) I play metal on guitar and listen to metal, but I am by no means a "metal-head" in my eyes! I am a huge fan of Wu-Tang's "lyrical-riffing" (and others of course), and this is not uncommon from where I'm from. Maybe because of, we have none of the high-school stigmatization you guys have when it comes to genres and social clubs that goes with that...(artificial musical segregation) I am not trying to judge American culture, it is just interesting to find these videos and seeing how Metallica, in this case, can open doors for people that are still trapped. (like how this lovely gentleman used to be before he took the leap) I am glad he shares this, so at least it can lighten the day up for someone like me! Thanks a lot, dude! You are a brother of mine in the family of music! (Sorry for all grammatical errors I surely must have flooded this comment with:p ) Love and respect from Norway, -K.Hårek-

@@williamskellyl1 lars is by far one of the worst drummers in metal ever, its the other members that have the talent and carved there way forward in metal with great guitar skills and song making , lars was always just a background noise , he played a part but nothing special, or in anyway outstanding, he was always only using just a basic beats in the realms of drumming throughout most of there songs if not all , yet he inspired a lot of new drummers from metallica's original sound , its pretty simple stuff drumming wise and am still amazed sum of my fav drummers once idolised lars , but in reality he plays the most basic shit and live still fucks it up , its only the other members that drag him with them that it seems to work out

@SsspraakForsskkarring
@SsspraakForsskkarring 5 жыл бұрын
Life is dynamic, and thankfully so. I like many sounds of those years too, but I remember just as much of the opposite shit being flogged back then like it is now. It can't be reproduced, but shit is easy to replicate .. and it still(as of now) sells like hot pancakes, like it has done since cynical music-machine started it cashing in on it. But, that aside. I fear that super-bands are not going to be a part of the future, we live in the last leg of the last tour I fear. There can be said much for and against it, but it takes some effort to find the few who write universally great music and get it out to the world. A band that writes great music all their life is not a common thing, and now we are flooded with 5 trillion bands/groups in the digital world every day. So I don't think there will be a platform for them like it has, super-groups are called that for a reason, and with evils like Apple and the likes of them at the current helm, we are fucked:(

Rock needs a revival, I truly miss the great times of rock & there is plently of room for rock & hip hop to coexist... the 90s proved it.

The rock bands need to embrace marketing them self with the same tactics the rappers use. You can grow your fan bases with labels or record deals.
@spin-cthrowshands5553
@spin-cthrowshands5553 5 жыл бұрын
@@brandonhinrichs8657 unfortunately rock has died... it can still come back, but the rock today has no soul... it has no... life. Rock truly started to die during the 90s, & I feel, died off after the emo phase of the 2000s. Rock needs to go back to its roots, I believe. It's not entirely rocks fault, because hip hop just completely took over... which influenced people to create hip hop more than spend the time to learn a instrument & rock n roll in general... but rock today is in no way comparable to that of the past... it can't even be compared to, or compete with, the rock of the 90s.
@brandonhinrichs8657
@brandonhinrichs8657 5 жыл бұрын
@@spin-cthrowshands5553 you're right but I think they need to embrace the way hip hop acts are able to market themselves and get their stuff to mass Mar without record labels. To the point where labels are lining up with deals for artists of varying talent levels but KZfaq is the way to build mass following and labels take notice of that
@spin-cthrowshands5553
@spin-cthrowshands5553 5 жыл бұрын
@@brandonhinrichs8657 I see your point, but first the music must be good... and I can't tell you one rock song since at least around 2001 to 2003ish lol. I feel like rock, in general, is not even considered popular after the 90s... maybe even late 90s, but definitely rock lost its touch when "Nu rock" became popular... many consider grudge to be the last great rock era.
@brandonhinrichs8657
@brandonhinrichs8657 5 жыл бұрын
@@spin-cthrowshands5553 I just think at least half of the problem is the industry being stuck I a certain way of thinking and being stuck in a certain lane that barely exists and being unwilling to evolve the way other forms of music like rap and even country have. Nobody really sells records anymore like the late 90s and early 2000s artists have to make their money performing now. It used to be the tours were to promote the album and now it's the album promoting the tour so to build a following of fans to support your concerts you need a large KZfaq, Instagram and Facebook presence.

That's a myth in my opinion. Metallica fans didn't abandon Metallica once the Black album came out. Many complained for sure but you know damn well they were still listening. As a matter of fact people still complain about them selling out today, you see it in youtube comments a lot, but they're still watching and commenting on Metallica videos (funny how that works right?). If anything they tripled their fanbase with that album, and that's being conservative. That album went 16x platinum and sent them to the moon
