90s RnB is what I grew up on. Only after that era ended, was I able to realize how privileged I was to hear these jams fresh on the radio. We couldn’t just dial up a song anytime we wanted to hear it, we had to wait and wait until it was played. It made the experience that much more special.

Loved the way Tevin layered his background vocals which he did himself, I'm Ready was written and produced by Babyface , the album went double platinum and featured his best selling single " Can We Talk" also "Always In My Heart" and Don't Say Good- Bye.

My favorite song by Tevin.. this came out during my teenage years and I used to sing it to girls I met during Cross Country and Track seasons lol.. Babyface wrote this song when he was in high school..and he picked the perfect person to sing it.. Classic Babyface production.. check out Brown Eyed Girl by Tevin.. that's my favorite song by him

Check out Brandy as well. Start with her first album from the mid-90s when she was a teenager just like Tevin was when he started. She is know as “the Vocal Bible” given her natural technique. Fun story. I got to meet him when I worked at the theater in universal studios Hollywood. He would come with his friends to see a movie in his hat and sunglasses, I said thank you Mr. Campbell and all his friends laughed because I knew who he was. Such a nice kid back then.

This was one of the R&B jams to my high school soundtrack, and it is still a classic.
