He’s referring to a claim vs data phenomenon. However, Dan is still wrong. Hurricanes have become stronger since reliable measurements came out in the 1970s, albeit there will be less hurricanes throughout the rest of the 21st century at the current pace of global warming, as well as the rate of increased intensity remaining constant.

His approval rating is worse than Trumps was according to many polls and there are reports that Kamalia Harris has the worst approval rating of any vice president IN AMERICAN HISTORY. Democrats got stomped in the last election nationwide, they under performed in numerous states (not just Virginia) and Democrats are so afraid of losing the House and Senate in the midterms that they pressured justice Stephen Breyer to resign so they can squeeze in a replacement before they lose the ability to do so. @@mikem2949 you’re mistakenly under the impression you’re arguing Democrats on a Democrat channel. This is a progressive left channel. There’s a difference. They point out and expose problems with both parties. While the Democrat platform most closely aligns with their views, they don’t make bones about calling them out (something you never see in conservative media, other than voicing frustration when the few who admit there wasn’t a stolen election admit it). Most of the viewers here, and notably the pundits, were not Biden supporters during the primary -But when given the choice went with him in the general for the very same point this video makes: it’s an embarrassment to be a part of a party who’s core arguments are predicated on lies and straw men. That my friend is the embarrassing part. What does it say about your guy (and your party) that a group of people who didn’t support Biden still recognized he was better than the alternative?

He said last 10 years but displayed data that ended 2017. Um it's 2021, missing 4 of the last 10 years where some major hurricanes did decimate the US states and territories.

That clown doesn’t deserve the attention Nomiki gave him. Im sure the Fox audience rooted for him during that entire discussion. He maintained a calm demeanor while Nomiki became increasingly animated. That further validated Bongino in the eyes of the Fox viewers. Considering the average Fox viewer doesn’t question any information they get from the channel, the cherry-picked data was enough for them to dismiss anything Nomiki said. It’s sad, but it’s reality.

I live in Buffa New York and I remember growing up and having cold winters and lots of snow. It's been a number of years since we had a major snow storm. Our winters are becoming more an more mild. It's not normal. Idk how people can deny what's in front of them.

did you explain that the oceans are heat sinks or batteries the energy that goes in expresses itself 30 years later? so the surface temp now reflects the energy that went in 30 years ago. so if the last 30 years are the warmest on record the higher temps will continue and the damage we did this year will be apparent in 2052. I'm not explaining clearly but that concept is how it was explained in my earth science class.

I just moved to iowa and it was 60 until the day after Christmas, and I week before Christmas we got a historic derecho storm in the middle of December, which apparently had never happened before, that's not including the tornadoes that ripped through the midwest a week earlier than that, it's ridiculous to deny it at this point

Anyone who has spent at least a decade in the mountains and a decade actually out in the ocean knows things are changing if you double ten years of time in the wild and remember how it used to be the weather is starting to catch up with the change in climate. Anyone that has spent their life mostly inside just needs to read the history of sailors and adventurers trying to traverse the Northwest Passage between Alaska and Canada. It was a frozen impossibi!ity all the way to 2007 or so then the NWP began to open up . Now regular passenger ships and cargo ships pass through every year. Crossing the NWP is no longer a big deal. Its wide open 100 days a year. When we get to the Blue Ocean Event then what comes after that will reveal our future.

Not even a climate scientist could debunk them unless they specifically dealt with that study before and knows the flaws in its methodology. The things is even if it happened how you all want it still would not have the result you want. A couple of years back some ice caps got bigger and it was all the rage until climate activists pointed out that on the global scale ice caps still shrink. What was the conclusion ?Meh some ice caps grow, others shrink, normal ice cap stuff, both sides, yadda yadda. Conservatives don't care about data, they aren't convinced by it.

Somewhat agree but I think Nomiki hits some good points here. You definitely need to remain calm though. I think a good method is coming up with an argument that quickly shows how climate change deniers misrepresent statistics (for example, there was a commonly used graph showing temperatures where they drew a line between a summer of one year and then a winter a decade or two later, and tried to use that as proof that the world was not getting hotter). You can just deploy that to explain why arguing on the spot over numbers you're not familiar with is not really feasible, then slide into other arguments.

I live in the pacific northwest. In the past, nobody around here had air conditioning installed in their houses because summers were always mild. In the last 5 years, more and more houses have started installing a/c because the heat waves are getting worse and worse every year (high of 115 F in 2021)

I suppose that is a rhethoric question. All that can be found in 5 minutes googling. First, names are local. E.g. hurricanes are cyclones in the southern hemisphere. Then in the tropics there is the most intensive (as most vertical) and you have the most intensive coriolis effect in these latitudes (causing more rotation of the storm system). And so on...

There are two key factors that fuel their formation: Convective Available Potential Energy (CAPE) and strong wind shear. CAPE is a measure of how much raw energy is available for storms; it relates to how warm, moist, and buoyant air is in a given area. Wind shear is a measure of how the speed and direction of winds change with altitude. Extra heat in the atmosphere nourishes storms. The more heat energy that goes in, the more vigorously a weather system can churn. For a severe thunderstorm, the ingredients that must be present are moisture, instability, lift and strong speed, and directional storm-relative wind shear. Severe storms derive their energy from the heat released by the condensation of water vapor. This "latent heat" energy drives thunderstorm clouds high into the atmosphere -- Basically, the energy source for intense storms is heat energy that is captured via evaporating water…. And then released during condensation The Coriolis impacts the direction of winds…. In 2007 the Fujita scale was replaced with the Enhanced Fujita Scale, which adjusted the likely wind speeds of different types of tornado damage (because all of them were estimates) to be more accurate. Meaning old numbers recorded were higher than what they actually were and if compared to today's numbers would lead you to believe today's aren't as bad because basically, you're trying to compare inches and centimeters.

Majority Report: I have an idea. Since Bongino used specific data to "refute" the devistating effects of climate change, you guys could provide references with accurate data. Also, if you had a blog, you could also go into depth as to why Bongino was wrong and how grotesque this anti-global warming disinformation is. Thank you for challenging him however, since he used specific data I think his argument will stand with some viewers until you can show them why it's rubbish.

we don't live in a "facts matter" world. at least not politically. Bongino pulled out a quote from a conservative group "interpreting" data which was BS. so they're not going to suddenly respect actual data. If you're going to go into Fox news, you have to be prepared for a hostile host and a hostile audience even though they're just watching from home. Bernie himself got cheers from the fox town hall crowd at the dismay of the fox "moderator" so it can be done. But you have to play the game, not just recite facts even though the facts may be on your side. We sadly live in a world where someone like Jordan Klepper, John Oliver, and Jon Stewart are more effective against the right than someone like Fauci (dunno why they keep interviewing him)

I live in Texas and we have been hit with hurricane after hurricane after hurricane during that "low time". I've never seen anything like it, plus the multiple flash flooding and storms keep pounding the area. IKE, HARVEY, RITA, etc, etc. They devastated the Houston area which has still never recovered fully. We now have storm alerts every year and the Insurance for Flood & Windstorm are outrageous. But according to this guy and the Heartland Group, nothing has happened. All's well. Nothing here to see. What a CROCK!

Her mistake was taking that quote at face value. She should have asked why he is using the Heartland Institute's reporting instead of the publicly available report directly. Make him get the actual report. Also, "Dan Bongino sent a van for me" sounds like the beginning of a Liam Neeson movie.

I hate the structure of cable news in general. 7 minutes for 10 topics instead of 60 minutes for one topic. When that hurricane quote came up, the correct but deliberately impossible response is "let me get the original report, and let's go through it together in totality". They're on the air for 24 goddamn hours every goddamn day, and they never once have time to let a thought last for five sentences.

I disagree that debating the facts is not the best approach on these shows. Even though Nomiki has the correct position, Bongino comes across as more authoritative when he's citing data (dubious as that data may be) and Nomiki is just telling him he's denying reality without citing any specific data to counter him. If I was uninformed on climate change and watched that segment, I'd think Bongino won.

the problem is that Nomiki isn't prepared to comment on whatever nonsense Bongino is saying, because this isn't her area of expertise. If she was in her bailiwick on the topic, Bongino wouldn't have her on, because it would be embarrassing for him.

Here in the Netherlands we haven't had a good snowfall in the winter for years, and when it does fall that one day in the winter it's gone almost the next day because of the warm weather. And currently, this 30th of December it's 13 degrees down here, where it should have been freezing under zero. Winter was always an ice skating fest here in the Netherlands, now ice skating belongs to the past unfortunately.

Nomiki needs to be ready to cite her own sources if FOX is citing theirs. FOX's is trying to make Nomiki look crazy by having her reject their own citations with nothing to back it up.
